Part 4

Luck wasn’t in his favor may be as he had been trying to get a glimpse of the baby and his wife but to no avail. His mother, wife & son all three were always inside the room, they were hardly coming out. He was stopped by one or the other ladies outside. They would always say one or the other thing and say not to disturb them. No one was allowed inside the room. Having a small baby had brought lots of new restriction. People were not allowed to visit the mother and the baby very often. Hygiene was very important and they took several measures to ensure the same. It’s only the smell of those aromatic incense in the house and occasional cries of the baby and not to forget the busy ladies who were helping the young mother to recover from the delivery that made it evident the presence of new things at home.

It had known to him over a period that his wife needed time till then she would be well hidden from him and be with him was not coming any sooner. Well that was the norms of the family and he was no one to oppose it either. He just waited for the day they were fit enough to be like before. He missed his wife most, though he carved for the baby too but the attachment wasn’t yet formed to have an impact on him.

He though got information about what happened inside that room, it was mostly that baby would be either sleeping or being fed with milk and occasional cries would mean that someone will have to change him. Well the baby was under strict vigilance of his mother and he had no doubt that she would take care of him anything less. He had witnessed immense love in his mothers eyes for the baby. The elders of the house were always entrusted with this task. While his wife would take ample rest to support her body to recover soon, there was a lady specifically to help her out in her things as well. Both MIL and DIL were deprived of the night sleep due to the baby.

On the other hand the arrival of the baby had brought good news in work front too as many new orders started to flow in, keeping the father and son duo busy. Son used to be mainly outdoors and father was busy supervising things at store. Mohan, elder neighbor had returned back disappointed so many times that he couldn’t share his worries to his beloved friend, who used to be free at afternoons for talks with him.

Days rolled by and the day came when the baby would be given the name. Devika would be seen mostly with the baby and made sure none of them were able to take him in their arms. She didn’t wanted a iota of displeasure to the baby. Madhav greeted all who were present there and his Son was in charge of all the facilities to be taken care, while his wife also was supervising in the arrangements for the ceremony.

Mohan who came then asked “What Madhav, you must be the most happiest person on earth today?”

Madhav replied “Yes off course, my home has become what it used to be. My wife doesn’t have time for making any issues apart from when it is the question of baby.  Which is quite normal now too. That too has reduced now as my DIL has taken the reins of the home again. She doesn’t leave any stone unturned to get things right. Who else would understand better than a mother. Everyone are happy in their life then what else would I need.”

Madhav continued “Why are you standing Mohan? Please sit here, you already have pain in knee. Let me check what’s happening inside.” Saying so he went, while Mohan thought “This time too this house is decorated exactly like when it was Madhav son’s naming ceremony. Indeed his love for the baby is like as his own son. He hasn’t differentiated them both his grandson and his son are treated as one only.”

Later the ceremony went on well and as the registrar of the town was also invited. Who was very much interested in bringing awareness among the village people, got the documents ready for birth certificate of the baby. He was waiting to fill in the details but was wondering how to ask Madhav, as he was very occupied till now.

Seeing him waiting Madhav asked “Did you need anything?”

He sincerely asked him to get the birth details registered of the baby and added he only needed few items as many were already known to him and had been happily filled too. And Madhav obliged and filled him with all the details he asked for.

Registrar : Baby’s Date of Birth

Madhav : 25/10/81

R: Place of birth

M: Here in my home itself

R: Your Wife’s name

M: Devika

R: That’s it Sir. Here is the certificate of the baby.

Madhav took that and kept it without even glancing what was mentioned and why would that require too. He just obliged his guest as he wasn’t in the mood to inquire much about it. Thus the baby Ranjit got his birth certificate with Madhav & Devika as his parents.

As the registrar was very new to the place mistook it as his son’s ceremony as Madhav was just near 45 age and his looks was quite deceiving him to be taken as grandfather of the baby.

Baby Ranjit was growing and turning into Master Ranjit. He was also sent to the same elementary school as the others went in the village. Though two decades had rolled by but the development in village had not progressed. Unknown to everyone Master Ranjit official records claimed that he was son of Smt. Devika & Sri. Madhav.

The boy too was closely attached to the Grandparents than his parents. Being a small kid, he was a vine who needed a support to live and as it was his grandparents who took care of everything he tend to them every time in need. Existence of his parents was something he wasn’t made aware of it. Everything what happened was neither intentional nor evident to them. He wasn’t required to interact with anyone else not even his own parents.

Ranjit’s parents also didn’t feel the pinch of it as it was so common that children’s go to the grandparents that they didn’t find the emptiness in their life. They never in their life felt being needed, they never went to their parents for anything nor here their kid came to them. When you are unknown to that part of life, you will not feel its absence pinching you. Their kid happily ran around the home so were they happy about it too.

Part 3

Time runs very fast, she was a newly wed but as she entered this home she become one among them. Her routine was getting clearer as the time ticked. how many people lived, what were their requirement at each time. she was getting all those details in her heart. Slowly but steadily she started to understand each and every requirement of the house members. Servants used to take care of everything and Devika used to give instructions but as she came in. She took the reins of the house, though it was Devika’s order which she followed, the personal touch was what she added to everything.

As the time elapsed she was providing things even before they were asked for. She made sure the water was drawn out from the well for cooking, bathing, washing, cleaning. Keeping the hot water for bathing, Flowers for puja, vegetables for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. In short she didn’t wait for anyone to ask her a thing.

She did everything for everyone at home. Neither they appreciated her nor gave credit to the efforts she put in. Just like one thing didn’t change, that was her mother in law’s complaints. Whatever she did for her mother in law, there would be one of the other complaint or taunt with it. Even though she did as she was asked Devika would make sure to find a reason to taunt. Maybe another women in the house would take up her place had made her insecure.

But she was not the only one who could hurt her. There were many to point out. As things started to happen before hand, people start to expect more from her and also start taking you her granted. She became the salt of the house. Neither anyone noticed her nor her presence felt. She was quiet but millions of things she carried out in a jiffy. Her service oriented mind and endurance was something no one understood.

Her inherent nature to accept things the way they are had helped her in life. She didn’t expect anything so never did she mind their words. She always took them as to mend her ways to please them. They were her elders and they knew what was right for the younger ones. That was her belief, which was instilled in her veins since birth.

She always looked forward for her husband return as that meant she got her dose of energy from him. Smiles, that too lots of smiles, with just his presence next to her.  He did get her few petty gifts but those were just priceless for her. It pumped her spirits thereby carrying on her duty with easy. they acted as silver lining to her life.

25th October 1981

Today was no different from the day it was few decades ago, today also Madhav was digging a hole again in the hall with his walk and this time too the reason was Devika. Only difference was it wasn’t Devika who was delivering but her daughter in law. He was scared if anything wrong happened, what else would he do to bring his wife back from the depths of sorrow.

He had enough pains already and prayed the almighty that let the happiness of this house return. As he prayed a new cry emerged out of the room inside, bringing the smiles on everyone face except Devika.  She wouldn’t care, already from past month she was having tough time managing the servants as many left owing to her temper.

Her DIL used to take the wrath and servants would have been grateful of her but now situation was different. She was asked for bed rest in the end days as the midwife was expecting some complications in her delivery. And following the birth of the baby, she was wondering what else held in future.

As she was still in her own thoughts, she heard her husband, Madhav ask the nurse to hand the baby first to Devika. She wondered why this sudden care for her and she didn’t want to bound with that tender one. Before she could utter a thing she had the small one in her hand. Her mind told her heart not to surrender but then her hands against her will held the small one very carefully. Tears flew out of her eyes blocking her view to see her grandson, as she was still trembling with her new feelings.

Madhav said “Finally, we got our son back.”

She starred in to his eyes to get confirmation of those words and as he kept on repeating the same, she finally bit by bit started to accept that it was indeed her son, who had returned. Nothing else registered in her mind.

Tears which were accumulated for years started to pour from her eyes. She became too emotional as she struggled to talk but finally said “My Ranjit is back.”

She had weaved so many dreams to the extent that she had decided on the names too and how she would bring up her son. Of Course her dreams had been to take care of the whole family at that time. But as that broke she was shattered to no avail.

Even the baby cried along with her feeling the pain. Madhav tried to pick the baby from her as the midwife came to take the baby for the first feed. But Devika resisted it, and fearing her reactions he signalled the midwife to wait for a little bit more time.

However the baby was not in the mood to listen as it was very hungry.

Madhav taking the opportunity heart too cried as he witnessed his wife said “Devika, control yourself by that time let him get his fill his stomach.

That was it, she was back to her form as she ordered a glass of milk to be prepared for the baby. She would feed him but wouldn’t let anyone take him away from her again.

Seeing the situation midwife got the milk from his mother and let the grandmother take care of the small baby. Anyways the mother was too tired after the delivery to take the responsibility.

Away from all but still in one corner a man was rejoicing for having a boy of his own. Worried for his wife, he had held his breath till he had heard the cry of the baby.

He was eager to take him in his hand but before he could pull himself to do the same, he had witnessed his parents getting emotional with the baby. Seeing them so much attached, he kept himself away.

Part 2

It was bright afternoon when Madhav could relax in his rocking chair while he read some newspaper as there was very less customers who would come for purchases at this time. Just opposite to his shop was house of Mohan, who was the house elder of that family and used to come for chat at the afternoon.

“How is your knee pain today Mohan” asked Madhav as he kept the magnifying glass aside which he used for reading newspaper.

“As you see Madhav I am unable to walk straight. This pain will go with this life only. But you seem to be free nowadays, didn’t you go for any visit.” Mohan asked.

“What is hidden from you my wife creates fuss from even a small thing at least if I am here I can try to nip it at the beginning. So only I had asked the doctor to say I shouldn’t travel much.” Madhav disclosed the truth.

“Yes… Time has brought about these changes in you both. You have somehow healed your wounds but her wounds are yet sore. How much cordial she used to be but Madhav I believe she could be back to her older self if there is a kid back in your house.” Mohan gave his opinion.

“Kid… In our house? She doesn’t even glance at any kid. Then how can that happen Mohan?” Questioned Madhav

“You don’t know the power a kid has. If a kid can push her into the deep wells of sorrow the same could bring her back too.” Mohan explained.

“I still didn’t get you. How could any kid make a difference?” Madhav asked still confused.

“Not just any kid but a kid who has your own blood can only melt her. Marry your son off soon. And once you have an heir she would definitely bring her old self out.” Suggested Mohan.

“Yes, you are right. Today itself I would speak to the Purohit about a suitable girl for our family” Madhav decided.

Unknown to the elders, their talks were heard by the 20 year old young boy. Who didn’t know what to think or whether to draw any conclusion from it? Were they really talking about his marriage? was he so able to take another person responsibility?

He didn’t know whether he was allowed to think about himself. There was a small wish which was starting to nourish but before he could realise his life was taking him in another direction. He as an obedient person who followed as was told to him.

Few days passed by and never again those topics were discussed in front of him. Even if it was he might have missed hearing them as he was not used to eavesdrop into others conversation and he was as busy as a bee in doing his regular works. Actually his every thursday trips was getting more successful and pleasant. May be the almighty was with him and he didn’t missed to give credit to that girl either as just her voice had that effect on him. Reason was unknown to him nor did he ventured out to find out whose voice that was but he just welcomed that with his open hands.

Suddenly one day when he came home after a long trip but there were was too much hassle bustle at home. He wondered what might be the reason for this. That’s when he heard his mother screaming at the servants to get the arrangements done.

He caught hold of one person and asked “Kaaki, what is happening here?” with a curious face but the answer made him freeze like ice. Those words kept ringing in his ears.

“Saab, It’s your wedding next week and the rituals would start from tomorrow.”

Today, 26th October 1978 he understood why elders used to say couples are made in heaven and married in earth. He had been shocked beyond anything but then just went with the flow without a question asked. And yesterday he found his mate. He was never expressive of his thoughts nor could he understand what he was supposed to say to anyone when it came to his personal life. Professionally also he did what was necessary, not a word was spoken extra. Such a timid person he was and to his surprise his wife was also the same. Was that coincidence or mate especially made for him he wondered. She just did what everyone asked her to. He didn’t know what to say to her when he saw her on their first time. He was so desperate to hear her voice but how was he to voice his thoughts.

He did try couple of times but then letters failed to form into a word. With nothing to say he just obeyed and his wife too did what was expected from them. Same things followed when they met alone after all the rituals. Both just sat struggling in their own ways to express but somehow the heat of the moment triggered and he initiated the exploration of those unspoken things which were supposed to transpire between them. She as a true companion gave her whole heart and life to him. For her, he was the light in the darkness, the air to live in, the whole world was now only him.

Morning was the most pleasant one he had witnessed. He had woken up with that pleasant humming of hers. It felt like the fresh breeze after the first rains of the season. He could hear her move around him. How much ever careful she tried to be but her anklets and bangles just gave away her actions. That was soothing effect she gave him. He wondered how much he was absorbing her presence in his life. His thoughts came to an halt when her already mellow voice dampen more. That’s when his eyes went to the jasmine flowers which were spread over the floor and within a minute she was back with a roll of thread to tie them together.

Smile wasn’t playing on his face but his happiness was present in his eyes. He was all set to resume his job when he saw a basket readily kept for the temple visit. She came and stood at the door wondering how to ask him, never did she know how to convey her wishes.  He understood his wife’s unsaid words, her wish to visit and take blessings of the almighty. He without a word just left and sat outside the house on the slab waiting for her. However she got scared when he went out without a word putting her in a puzzled state. But still she thought to check and ran behind him with the basket.

The moment she stepped out he got up with a smile and led the way. She followed him matching his steps behind as promised at the time of marriage.

Namesake – Part 1

Today, 25th October 1958 was just a normal day for everyone but for Madhav it was not, he has been digging a hole in the main hall of his home with his walk reason was his wife Devika, who was screaming inside the room from past 12 hours, still there were no news of the baby. Midwives as many as 5 were present to take care the delivery procedures; still there was no news yet. He was one of the eminent person in the village, everyone respected him; took his words as final. He held the biggest shop of groceries everyone in the village was depended on him & he was well known for the best quality products. He heard a loud scream from Devika scaring him but the next moment he also heard the baby’s cry making him relax. Today he has become a father of his child. Just then a lady came announcing “It’s a boy. Mother & Son both are safe.”

Well that was the just the beginning, which increased the happiness of the house into tenfold. Over the days he got orders for the regular supply of provisions to the hospitals, schools everyday for all, which not only increased his work to maintain his standard of quality but also his devotion to work ate his time which was for his family. As the materials were issued to mess for preparing food for the kids & patients the quality had to be maintained to keep the orders intact in his favour. He had to visit his suppliers regularly as the demand had increased exuberantly.

While Madhav was busy, Devika held the reins of the house and also handled the baby with all the love & care. She had servants who used to help Madhav in his shop & also her in household chores, nursing the baby. Well servants were more than the family members in the house so she only had to manage them everything else would have been done with ease.

The little baby was just over two years when they were enthralled with the news of another baby in their life but things change within a blink of an eye, even their life’s did change as Devika had a miscarriage when she was over 23rd week of pregnancy. To overcome from the loss of child Madhav indulged more in his shop reducing his already less time to family while Devika turned into a hard stone lady. There was a fear in her that what if anyone else leaves her after coming very close to her heart.

Both the parents were so consumed by the grief that they forget the tender heart that was keen to be with them. Being a small kid it was easy to get distracted that was exactly what it turned out to be, he was a vine who needed a support to live if the tree beside him didn’t let him to entwine with it, it would tend to something else nearby. His parents couldn’t give him anything but the servants of the shop helped him to live & nourish in their way.

When you don’t know how to treat a thing or a person and no one is there to guide you, you learn on your own looking at the surroundings. And if we judge them wrongly elders would correct you but when the same elders tend to ignore you at the time when they were supposed to correct you. You could never know the right way you should have followed. Similarly the kid was not thought by either of the parents but when he spent time with the servants, they did teach a few things and one of the most important lessons he learnt was to listen and accept whatever is said to him and that to when it came from the masters of the house.

Though they never could give time to him, he was not ignored to the extent that they forgot they had a son but that didn’t matter to them anymore, he was just another kid in the home along with the kids of their servants. When he reached an age of schooling he was sent to free elementary school of the village. The kids were sent out only to keep the trouble out for a while and give everyone breathe of life from the cries of these kids. And the importance of education was not that familiar to the village people and it didn’t bother to the elderly eminent person of the village too.

Years rolled down and the small kid was growing up faster and with growing up he was not let free he was supposed to work on the making paper covers for the next day’s selling while the elders used to make the ready packets for selling. And In school he was tamed to be obedient & follow whatever he was asked too, that was not a difficult task nor did it bother to him. To question was something he didn’t know be it anyone. He would be so sincere, silent and shy that none knew he was also present.

A son was what he was and that was tag for which he was given importance in everything he was given. He was in his teen when he was helping his father in his travels learning about the places, products, qualities, prices & tactics used to dwell in the field of business. The keen observer he was, helped him to grasp it ever so earnestly. But never did he take a step more than he was ordered. He was given everything whatever they thought was his need, but when you give luxury of a bed to a beggar still he prefers to sleep on the ground. Even though he was provided with all the comforts he used only which was necessary. He had all the money but that didn’t make any place in his heart.

As every other Thursday today too he sat in train compartment looking out towards the scenery of the village while is mind was thinking about the day ahead & planning all the works lined up for the day when his nostrils were hit with a strong fragrance of jasmine, if that itself was driving his senses to add to his misery a sweet voice filled his heart with peace but that voice was soon hid behind the loud sound of the running train. It had been an year that he was given the responsibility to handle the suppliers, yes he was young to the job but Madhav was not keeping very well & hence not allowed to do the travelling. So the work was handed over to his responsible shoulders.

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Epilogue

Geet continued with her work and slowly even her work load was reduced by Maan, though Geet wanted to support more but her health wasn’t helping her to take much of work. Off late she would get tired very soon; intake of food in regular interval also took her time. There were times when she couldn’t even sit for a few minutes peacefully forget about standing and drawing the designs.

One incident which frightened Maan to no end and put a restraining order on Geet’s entry to office was on the day when Maan had to present the final presentation to the new investors. Geet had come out of Maan’s cabin after handing him few of the work related papers of the project however she suddenly felt the pace of her heart sprinting on a 100 meters track and very soon would break Usain Bolt’s record. But then the heart took pity on Usain Bolt & reduced its pace gradually, thereby consuming most of her energy which led her to stumble in her steps which made way to the most dreadful event i.e she was about to collapse but invariably before any slip an underneath support stabilised her. As in sheer luck Maan had turned to witnessed her through his glass partition.

Though the nasty fall was averted but there was a deep impact on Maan of this incident. Rather than Geet it was Maan who was more shaken up as that was all new to him. And at the same moment when all these were happening Adi came to inform Maan “Boss, investors are here; waiting for you in the conference room.”

Geet who was back to her normal state spoke before Maan “Great, I will get the reports circulated.”

To which Maan clearly objected “Geet, you are not attending this.”

“Why shouldn’t I? I need to know what investors have to say about it only then can I proceed with next design works.” Geet said quite confused about the sudden restriction.

“You aren’t working on it anymore.” Maan said and addressed the next person in charge “Call Sasha, let her attended it as she would take over from Geet going forward.” Saying so Maan left in a hurry to look after the investors.

Maan noticed Minal entering the elevator with some reports to the meeting so he said “Minal…give this papers to me and be with Geet.”

Maan whose attention was required at both ends let Minal take care of his wife for a while as he dealt with the investors. He also asked to keep his car ready as he would leave in a while.

Geet was yet to come in terms of the fact “How could you do this to me.” Geet complained as she felt a hand on her shoulder.

But to her dismay it wasn’t of Maan’s but Minal’s which led to the fall of that one drop of tear which was on the brisk of her eye.

“Geet calm down…” Minal said and before she could continue Geet had walked into her cubicle to pack her bag.

Minal who came running behind was shocked to see that in a blink of an eye Geet was ready to leave “Geet…” she said but before she could say a thing more Geet replied “I was anyways on the brisk of handing over my jobs, there are few more work left which I would complete it and send them over.”

“But…” Minal said but then Geet just gave a final look at her place before moving out of her workstation.

Maan introduced Sasha to the investors as the new lead to work on the project and said due to some family emergency he would want to postpone the meeting to the next day.  Though investors were not happy with the abrupt change in the plan but then understood as every other details of the project were laid out in front of them.

In few minutes Maan took leave only to meet Geet in the elevator who was ready to slip away from him but then who was she kidding. And as the elevator door closed behind them Maan spoke first shedding away the brave face “Geet are you fine…are you experiencing any pain. And what are you doing alone? This Minal can’t do a thing properly; she was supposed to be with you. I was about to call you we are going home. You need to take rest. I have told you thousand times to take rest properly but why would you listen to me? Haah…”

Rather than answering his question Geet bombarded him with questions “First tell me what you are doing here? You are supposed to handle my project right?”

“First reply me then I would answer” Maan got annoyed.

“No… first answer me…” Geet showed who is more annoyed.

But then the fight would have continued if not the doors of the elevator opened leaving them out of their privacy. Quitely both climbed into the car and as Maan led the car out of the gates of KC the arguements started to flow like water. After few turns and signals both had let their frustration cool down and started answering the other clearing misunderstandings air between them.

Maan stopped the car infront of their home when he said “Geet…it is time you take proper rest and care. I am more worried about the baby. I can take care of the office tensions but not a scuff on you two.”

“But it is just few more days as we had planned earlier then anyways I would be off of your office.” Geet said quite disappointed.

“For me…”Maan said.

“Anything for you…” Geet said agreeing to him and continued “Nevertheless any help, you know where to look for…”

“Offcourse…come I will give you a ride to the bed…” Maan said while passing a loop side smile to her as he picked her up in his arms.

“Only a ride…”Geet said as her fingers started to loosen the tie around his neck and slowly tipping off the buttons to unravel the afternoon delight all for her self. Needless to say what followed rest…

Minal was left to wonder what was really happening and only conclusion she deduced was Maan loved Geet but she rejected his offer (both love & promotion) and also left the job to have peace in her marital life. And even after that he has some soft corner towards Geet as he asked Minal to take care of her. Personally Minal didn’t like Maan because he was the reason for which Geet had to leave this office. In all these things she lost a wonderful colleague, senior and also a friend.

She wanted to speak to Geet and keep in touch with her but alas the work load with which her boss gave made it difficult to be in constant touch. Better late than never she finally got a chance on a day after about 2-3 months and was delighted to know that she gave birth to a baby boy a week ego. And now she wanted to meet the mother and the baby but how was they to ask for off or even to leave office early. As boss was nowadays very very rare to appear from past 2 weeks but wanted the work to be perfect. It was only through mails did he correspond even he was not reachable through phone. The previlege to speak was there only with the Arjun, Sasha & Adi and leave was approved by Maan himself at crucial times. He missing in office only left her wishes in abeyance.

But then she was not going to stop trying. Finding a way Minal went to Sasha and news spread like a fire about Geet and her boy. Many who were close to Geet wanted to visit but again the question was who would tie the bell around the cat’s neck. Luckily on the same day afternoon Maan came to office and Sasha took the lead for asking the permission.

Sasha was about to knock the door when Minal stopped her “Ma’m…”

“Yes…Minal” Sasha asked.

“Please don’t mention Geet’s name…boss would get angry and might not let us leave early.” Minal said.

“Hmm…” Sasha responded but then anyways she knew how to tackle the issue too.

Once inside the cabin…

“Boss…” Sasha said “Some of us wanted to leave office today 2 hours early. Actually we all are planning to go to visit Geet and baby.”

Maan was serious till now got a smile on his face remembering the cute buddle of joy.

Minal who was also present thought “Looks like boss still has interest in Geet.”

Hearing no response from Maan, Sasha offered “Boss… why don’t you accompany us?”

And next second the smile vanished as he remembered how Geet had threatened him to leave them and to visit office as Maan was not ready to leave his son. But then Sasha’s offer was so alluring, he can be with his son again…  And about Geet…. he can always explain his side to her easily.

Minal thought “may be Boss is scared to face her now.”

“Okay… I will come along?” Maan said and then continued to question about the projects going on.

Minal who was watching Maan’s reaction intently was shocked at the acceptance of Sasha’s proposal.

Geet had messaged the address to Minal of her parent’s guest house which was a bit far from the office.  After travelling around for 2 hrs they reached the place, Maan was driving alone in his car while others were coming in Arjun’s car. Everyone thought that Maan would follow Arjun’s car but to be on the safer side Minal messaged Maan the address which Maan didn’t bothered to even check as it was a message from an unknown number.

Both left the car outside the guest house. Everyone gathered at the entrance and waited for Maan to join them so that everyone can enter at once. And also they had to give some importance to boss right.

The door was opened and they were asked to wait in the hall as the servants would call up the Mehra’s. But at the same time Maan’s mobile rang and he excused himself to attend the call and went out towards the lawn to finish it whereas others settled themselves in the hall waiting for someone to show up.

In a few minutes Mr. Mehra, Geet’s father came to greet everyone as bit later Geet to joined all with the little one.  Minal was the first one to approach Geet to take the baby from her. Each one of them had one or the other thing to say when they saw the baby. Some enquired about the health of the mother & baby while some were advising them about the precautions to be taken.

For few moments everything seemed to be fine until Sasha who was cuddling the baby asked “Where is your Papa baby???”

In a jiffy Geet replied “Don’t take his name. I had to literally push him out of this home today”

Everyone was dumbfolded ‘Did she just push her prem, her hubby out?’

Adi gave his signature laugh and brought everyone else to reality. Sasha asked “Geet, you are a mother now, how can you do such a thing with your husband.”

For which Geet clarified “He wasn’t even ready to leave him for a second, he hadn’t touched any of his office work.”

Adi said “Its okay Geet, you don’t have to get mad. He is the Boss and he has made sure his subordinates are adept enough to handle situations like this.”

“Adi Sir, You will say like this but I know how everyone needs his attention, I can’t let anyone point their finger at him.” Geet said.

The conversation would have continued if the baby had not interrupted everyone and gained their attention.

“Geet, looks like he is hungry.” Minal said.

“No, he might need a change” said someone else.

“Or, he must be sleepy” said another.

“Let me have a look” said Geet as she took the baby inside.

That’s when Minal asked “Where did Boss go, he didn’t come in to see the baby?”

“He must be busy with the call, better I will check it once” Arjun said as he walked out.

“I think we should leave now, it is getting late too” Sasha said.

“But Boss” Minal said as she didn’t want to leave Boss alone here as she couldn’t deduce what all can happen here.

“Neither is he outside nor his car and even his cell his busy so must be on call too.” Arjun said.

Taking the cue all decided to leave but as Geet was busy with the kid, they informed her parents and took leave.

Minal had a relief as their boss had left without meeting them.

Geet put her baby to sleep and came back after a while only to know that all her friends have left. She thought to take a walk around in the mean time as she had to wait for her prem to show up. She wanted to tell him about the visitors who came today. As she strolled in the garden she heard a little murmuring voice. Since it was dark she hesitated to go further but then suddenly she saw some light and a tapping sound on laptop, that’s when she realised her husband was busy on the swing with his laptop.

“I thought you went to office” Geet said breaking his concentration.

“Well I was but came back soon and what are you doing here? It is time for your dinner right then why are you still strolling around?” Maan replied.

“Oh… I got late as Arjun sir, Sasha maam, Adi Sir, Minal and others had come to see us.” Geet said.

“Come to see us means, they left already.” Maan asked.

“Yes, even I didn’t get to say bye to them, it was getting late so left without informing me.” Geet replied. “Wait a second you knew they were here.”

“Yes, I came with them itself, but as I got a call from the client got busy with the work.”  Maan responded.

“Uff prem, they were our guests you should be the one to receive them.” Geet cribbed. “this is how you take care of guests?” she continued to question.

“Geet, I didn’t even want to leave you. I would have anyways left it on them to handle this project. It was you, who pushed me into the work and now that I have got involved I can’t get back out in the middle of the discussion with the client.” Maan said.

“That doesn’t mean you ignore your guests.” Geet said.

“Okay, next time I would keep in mind. And for your kind information our staff does understand my position and wouldn’t have minded anything.” Maan replied.

“Yes, Adi sir did mentioned that they will co-operate.” Geet said.

“See, I told you.” Maan said for which Geet could only agree while he continued “Geet, can I ask you something today.”

“You don’t have to think once.” Geet replied.

“Well, I wouldn’t say until you promise on our baby that you will do as I say.” Maan said it as he laid his trap.

“Now, where did that come from? You know I wouldn’t say no to you.” Geet said while she was sceptical about where was he leading this to.

“Okay then you are ready to hear me.” Maan enquired.

“Now, will you stop scaring me, prem” Geet said.

“There you go, you will call me by my name only.” Maan said and before she could answer he continued “You just promised on our baby.”

“You are not supposed to trap me like this.” Geet cribbed but knew there was no escape now but to agree to her husband demand.

Days rolled on and the baby was getting all the love and attention from everyone. But as the time passed the work pressure also increased for Maan. New projects pressure and absence of his better half in office was clearly visible to him but he couldn’t have asked Geet to work when their baby needed her all attention and rest is what more required to Geet than the stress of work.

One day it so happened that a project of two residential complex came up for intial presentation and both designs draft sketch were to be prepared overnight as the client was taking holiday for a month long & was in a hurry to kick start their work beforehand itself thereby amplifying the toil on Maan’s shoulder.  Though the competent staffs were present in his company last minute evaluation had to be done and also he being the one presenting it should know its content to its minute level. Continous strain to his eyes led him to a deep slumber in a jiffy.

Maan had no idea till what time he slept until he heard Geet saying “Shhh… don’t make too much of sound. Your dad would wake up, he rarely gets rest nowadays. So don’t make too much of noise.”

As if he would follow Geets words. His Dad name itself bought so much happiness to him that he started to giggle and call his dad in his own language.

There couldn’t have been any better way than waking up to the laugh of his kid. Maan looked at him and slowly made his son to rest on his chest. The small kid was more than happy to be on his dad. It was very less time that Maan spent with his son but still the very little time was a memorable one.

Geet tried to intervene as Maan was still sleepy but she didn’t have a say when the father and son duo were together.

Maan always lost track of time while he was with his baby’s but his both baby’s knew how to help him come back on track. Small one cried out as he had to be cleaned and the big one asked him to freshen up as the clock is not going to stop if you are playing with baby.

Maan sighed with his wife comment and his eyes fell on the laptop kept on the side table which bought him to reality that he was supposed to review two reports where as he fell asleep in mid itself. Time gone is gone, he started to hurry up with the things to obtain some time to analyse the reports.

He was in on his way to office when he opened the laptop to look at the reports only to get a sweet surprise. There was a file which had summarized the whole report to help him understand them very fast. Well he didn’t have to think twice to understand who was behind this. In no time his mind started working on present situation as well as future. What beholds for them was quite clear for him. May be time is right to take steps to higher levels.

That day the wait till evening felt like a far affair for him. He had so much in his mind that had to be shared with his wife that every second took hours to pass by. Finally his patience worned out as he made his way out towards his home. It was not just the success of these projects he had to share but also the long awaited dream of his would be true soon.

Geet was waiting for a call from Maan for a long time. She was trying to make her son sleep while she had lot to complain about. Heavens above was thanking their stars as Geet wasn’t complaining anymore to Babaji but the new ear was her own son. He must be thinking its better to sleep without a fuse than to here those complains.

“Don’t know what would have happened? Neither did he call me nor picking my call to explain him about the work I did for him. See Prajwal, your dad had to run away to office before I could tell him and now I am left wondering what happened? Did my efforts paid off. Let him come home we will not talk to him.” These were the last words Baby heard from his mother as he dozed off. But who was to stop Geet, her trail of thoughts was on & on until a hand covered that mouth.

“Enough Geet” Said Maan “Prajwal has slept long back. Whom are you talking to?”

“Really” whispered Geet against Maan’s hand as he gave a little space for her. But that little space was not given for her to speak but to let him cover hers with his lips.

Geet was taken by surprise but that’s not something she could ever resist and she responded with the equal valour. They wouldn’t have left that moment had they not required a little breathe to survive.

Three years had passed and she had not seen this building but today she was standing infront of the same premises where she had started her new life, her carrer, her work. She was an amateur at that time and now with the help of her husband, her Maan she will today take over charge officially as Co-MD of KC and MD of Keerti Designs.

She would have been lost in her thoughts when someone tapped on her shoulders. She without looking said “What took you so long?”

“I should ask you that, what took you so long??” said Minal. She was first surprised to see Geet in front of her then happy to have seen her old friend.

“Hey Minal, How are you? I could keep in touch with you. I was so occupied with my life that I could not get time to call up personally anyone.” Geet said feeling little bad.

“Well, I should say sorry to you. I always wanted to be in touch but life became too busy after you left. It is only from past few months that MB has made us relieved. You know how bad the situation was. He was loaded with so much of work and we all had to cope up with his extra anger which used to surface for ever small small things.” Minal said while she left a sigh of relief.

“Really, Then now there isn’t any overload of work?” enquired Geet as she was surprised to hear the repercussions of her Maan’s work.

“Work load and that too less is not a good sign for the business, Geet” exclaimed Minal and continued “New senior people are on board now to fill the gap between the top and lower level people.

“Meaning?” Geet didn’t get what exactly Minal was saying.

“Okay, let me tell you straight, after you resigned, MB couldn’t appoint anyone to fill the gap and the problem started to arise as we used to wait for his time. We used to send the digital versions of the designs and reports to him through mail, but MB had not got time to see them also. With his entire busy schedule we were finally left with no other option but last moment and late evening reviews, needless to say that they killed us mercilessly. But thank god, he showed some pity on us and appointed new Co-MD.” Minal said and continued without giving Geet a chance to speak. “You know few months back, we all started getting replies to our work. Some GK, who is a co-MD to KD. Actually we all are getting officially introduced to her.”

Looking at Geet raised eyebrows Minal continued presuming what may be her next set of questions “Yes it’s her, first we thought it was a guy but later when MB addressed in one of his mail as her, only then we all understood it was her. We are yet to know why she had chosen to stay up behind the screen position till now. Whatever may be the reason we are glad that she came and things sounded better for all of us.”

Geet understood that Minal doesn’t know and now she got a chance to know what they think about her when she is their Co-MD. Though she had known every official thing happening inside, yet there was that small curiosity to know what they thought about her. Did they think that she has gotten this position due to her ability or just because she was Mrs. MSK. So Geet probed Minal a little more. Anyways she just needed to poke a little and Minal was already to share, she forgot her world as she had found her lost friend.

“But Minal I heard that, GK is MB’s wife and that’s why she got this position.” Geet probed further.

“Whatever it may be I only know that she is good her work. I couldn’t get a chance to speak with her but all communications were through mail only. And what I learnt was she is way too professional, when it comes to work. Just like our MB. Sometimes I am reminded of your work style in hers. But more improvised version of yours and also MB’s. I am so excited to meet her too, actually we all are.” Replied Minal as they entered their office.
Geet remembered how her day used to go in a blink in this place, she would have gone more in flashback but she was greeted by m
any old and new faces in office.
Sasha, Arjun, Jenny, Adi & many others who knew her welcomed her and were catching up with how her life was.

That’s when Jenny asked “How is your son?”

The other one asked “how many years now?”
Yet other person asked “Where is he? Is he here too?”
Before she could answer someone said “Must be busy with Geet’s prem.”
Finally she spoke, “Yes, so true. They both hardly used get time together. Both of them one another and moreover I felt bad because of that too. But now that I am helping him in his office, things have been shaping well between them. I didn’t want him to regret that he wasn’t their when Prajwal grew up.”
“Prajwal, what a nice name…”said the other one. “You should have brought him too.”

“Offcourse he is here too, how can I leave him today? He is with his dad, should be here in a while.” Geet said.
That’s when they heard the laughter of Maan & his son, as they entered the office. Few minutes before Maan was having a great time laughing & playing with his son. But as he entered his office he became all serious and was in his professional mode. To his surprise his son started to imitate his facial expressions. That brought out the laughter from him and yet again his son too started to imitate him.
That’s how everyone saw the father and son duo enter into the office. While everyone was busy at the 7th wonder sight. Little boy Prajwal was busy getting down from his father’s hold as he saw his maa there.
Prajwal ran and tugged Geet to pick him up “Maa, where were you? We were searching you downstairs. We both missed you.”
Geet smiled at her kid as he came running to her “I met your Minal Aunty and didn’t know when we both came up.”
“Ok, next time you take me also with you.” Prajwal said.
“Why, you didn’t like being with your dad?” Geet said speculating what could be his reason.
“No, I enjoy with him too but you will go missing and I will remind you what we are supposed to do.” Prajwal said sweetly for which Geet could only nod her head.
As the mother and son duo were in their own world, Maan reached the podium to introduce his wife as the Co-MD of the organisation who will officially take charge from today. Many who knew Geet before were shocked to know that Maan and Geet were husband and wife. As none could forget how hard he used to be on Geet. She had been their saviour from Maan’s anger from the day she had joined. But what amazed them was how they were unknown of this fact, though they were professional but rumours had made its way till their ears about the undercurrent they shared.
Well the issue was for old known people itself as Geet had been under them before and now she would lead them. Though from past so many months that were done, it didn’t matter as they didn’t know it was Geet.
Sasha, Arjun, Minal, Jenny were all rooted to their places while the Geet took charge in her new cabin. Adi was getting all the official papers signed. All the process was finished and Geet excused from there to meet her old bosses & colleagues. She had to explain her part.
They all had sat in canteen but none were mentally present. Everyone out there was trying recollect how they could miss recognising Geet as Mrs. MSK. But none could actually remember their wedding as they had spent more time roaming around than to pay attention towards the bride or the wedding itself.

“So how was the surprise guys.” Adi said as he passed tea to everyone.

“You knew before itself?” Questioned Minal

“Well, he was the one who prepared all the official documents. So obviously he would know it” told Sasha.

“Actually much before that” Adi said while taking a sip from his cup and continued “You all remember that trip we all had went. That’s when I had got to know the truth.”

“Then why didn’t you share it with all of us Adi sir.” Enquired Jenny.

“To tell you the truth, I had thought it was only me who didn’t remember Geet as MB’s bride. But later realised that all of us were sailing in the same boat.” Adi replied.

“So if MB had not made this announcement, you would have never told us?” Questioned Arjun.

“You guys need to know who I am. My name is Sharma…Aditya Sharma. We don’t announce things unless we are asked for.” Adi said.

“Oh, the James bond great grandson is here. We had forgotten about it” mocked Arjun.

“For your kind information this James bond itself knew this before any one of you.” Replied Adi proudly. ” I know why you all are upset, because she will become your senior from today.”

“What rubbish Adi” said Sasha. ” I had seconded MB’s decision previously too. And this time too I know she will not let Our Company down”

“Then you all must be happy.” Said Adi. “Why keep this hung face”

“She isn’t right in hiding things with us” replied Sasha. “We are her friend’s not just colleagues”

“Well then, when did she hid it? According to her we all attended her wedding. So she didn’t ever had to be introduced as Mrs. MSK. And don’t you remember how kiddish she used to behave with her husband. Sasha, you yourself have advised her to grow up and start understanding in her relationship. Maybe she never clarified our ignorance but what’s wrong in it. She should be loved as a friend for what she is and not because of whose wife she is” Explained Adi.

Geet had come to the cafeteria almost the same time when Adi was serving tea to everyone. Hearing to there talks she realised that they didn’t even know about she being Maan’s wife. She would have been so lost in her world that never did she bothered about what all they would have understood about her. Well though it was a blessing in disguise. Imagine how people would have reacted if they knew she was complaining about her boss to their boss itself. That too about how cruel he is. But she owed an apology for being lost in her own world to both her colleagues cum friends and also to her boss cum husband.

“OK at least now let’s welcome our Geet our new Co-MD.” Said Arjun as he got up from his seat along with everyone else.

As the turned towards the entrance Geet stood holding her ears with apologetic face and said “Sorry guys I hurted your feelings with my ignorance”

“Well then we are also sorry Geet. You are not the only one ignorant” said Minal.

With all difference sorted out the celebration took a new zeal as now everyone were free from the burden of ignorance.

Prajwal was busy exploring his family office, while his grand parents held the duty of watching him.

Geet slowly slipped out of the celebration by her gang to see what her prem sorry her Maan was doing.

The moment she came into his cabin, she was hit back with all those memories with him in this cubical. Some were good some weren’t but now time was not to remember what had happened but to go on with present.

If you are done with the getting lost in the interiors, you can spare a look at your poor husband.” Maan said bringing her out of her revive. “You will anyways get too busy my Co-MD.”

She smiled hearing to his rattle. Nowadays both father and son won’t stop their sweet complains. Both of them need my attention at the same time and none are ready to give up until they have my full attention both physically and mentally.

Maan got up from his seat as he said “Come here, you can share this chair now.”

Geet declined that saying “No, I will still take little more time for that chair”

She pulled him towards the window to view the reddish orange sky indicating the impending sunset.

He stood right behind her resting is chin on her shoulder as his hands caged her “Thank you Geet”

“Why are you thanking me” she asked.

“You are coming back to office when you still have to give your time to home and Prajwal. I am going to burden you more when your hands are already full just to fulfill my dream.” He replied.

“What to do when I am sandwiched between two perfectionists who are there to turn me also into perfectionist. I should not disappoint them.” She replied

“Two perfectionist” he asked as he couldn’t understand what his wife was saying

“Yes on my left I have my ever loving Pati and on my right I have my strict Boss. Both helps me to be what I am today and in future too.” She replied. “People must be seeing the sunset but I am actually seeing this as an end of one chapter with a promising bright new chapter of our life. Thank you Maan for everything.” She said as she locked herself into him.

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 20

Part 20

Maan was in his call for a long time, he wanted to get through it as fast as possible but then this client was not letting him and he was definitely not in the mood of business today. He wanted to spend his time with Geet rather than with his mobile. One statement from Geet has already changed his addictive nature towards work; as the minutes ticked his patience was running out. But being the client he had to be polite; at this moment he decided to take the serious action and cut short his clients’ words and ends it sooner.

Next what he had to do was to book a place very they could have their own sweet time for a while. He wanted to say so much to her but then words were at short for expressing his happiness today. He didn’t have to think twice before arranging for a small dinner outing for the night. Booking, arrangements & menu was all fixed in seconds; he wanted all the things perfect and should be comfortable too.

He thought to call her over phone to pack her bag so that they can leave but then why to waste time in calling he would pick her up on the way and leave. Today he was in a hurry but that was unknown to others so if someone came by mistake also infront of him with some issue, they were sure to get fired by him.

Unfortunately today it was Arjun, just outside the cabin Maan was stopped by him.

“Boss…” Arjun called out.

“Not now Arjun…” Maan said.

“But Boss … in the xyz project we have come across a small hitch and tomorrow afternoon we have to present the designs to the clients.” Arjun framed his sentence quite well getting the hint of temper in boss’s voice but didn’t know his luck was not with him today.

“I said not now…handle it however you can or else postpone the meeting.” Maan said rather should be termed as his verdict.

“Geet… come with me now.” Maan said it firmly but the staff felt that today their boss was up for something. They could only pray for Geet’s safety.

Geet understood the reason behind the frustration poured out on Arjun followed silently behind him. She knew he was not or to say never could get anger on her. Once out alone away from the confines of the interference he would be normal.

Maaneet made their way out and the gossip mill started to run in full swing inside the office. Everyone had their bit of information to share with.

One said “Geet got a letter of promotion.”

“She rejected it.” said another.

“Why did she do so?” someother asked.

“It isn’t easy to handle things here. Even Geet couldn’t handle it, did you miss to see the tears which she wiped when she came out of the boss cabin. I am sure something serious must have happened.” Added a person.

“Why was she crying?” Someone questioned.

“Offcourse Boss would have been unhappy because she rejected his offer.” replied the one who was questioned.

Speculations, debates and different conclusions were being drawn by each and everyone present in the office. Some did it openly but some had it with themself. But out there away from these ridicule discussion Maaneet were having their moments.

They entered the lift and in that moment did Geet try to calm Maan as she rubbed her palm against his strong arms. “You didn’t have to be rude to him. And from when did MSK started putting your work behind. This is your first baby right.” Geet said sweetly.

“Yes, that is but I even know it can flourish without much of my intervention. People out there are being paid to take care of it and they are trust worthy enough for me to handle this new life.” Maan said as he slowly cornered her to a side of the life.

“So atleast now I get your whole attention.” Geet said smiling at his acceptance.

Maan pushed away the strands as he rested one hand at the wall behind her and the other moved to feel the life inside her and whispered “I Love You” but then he didn’t exepct silence at those words.

There was ding sound of the lift heard to break the silence and then Maan repeated again those words thinking she wants to hear it again “I Love you” but Geet replied pointing her finger towards him and slightly pushing him away “I hate you” and walked away from the lift.

Here Maan stood wondering why Geet reacted in such a way but rather than wondering he thought to check with her and he followed her. Unaware that Minal had witnessed their little exchange of words and needless to say that she was shocked to no extent. Geet was waiting next to his car; actually she was even cutier with that little anger on her face. He unlocked the car as she gladly occupied the place ignoring Maan royally.

Maan was contemplating how to make her speak out as she was not responding to any questions now.

“Geet … how about I get you an ice cream and you tell me why you are angry” Maan thought atleast now she will spill it.

“See Babaji; he only got the news today and today itself he doesn’t even understand why I am angry. What will happen when our baby will be in our hands? I am sure he would forget even my existence.” Geet cribbed loudly enough to convey her reason.

Maan instantly stopped the car hearing her explanation. Was she the same women who took such a mature decision a while ago? She thought it was just for baby and not for her as his one hand was on her stomach. Well he didn’t have any other option but to clarify her unnecessary doubt. He stepped out and bought some ice creams which as expected did melt her anger. And now she was back to herself, the issue was forgotten as the ice cream dissolved.

“Where are we going?” Geet asked in mid of her ice cream massacre.

“We are going to celebrate at the abc place; a candle light dinner.” Maan said smiling.

“Dinner this early?” Geet said as it was still 2 in the afternoon.

“Yes, that is what I have planned, till dinner time your driver is ready to take you to any place you wish for.” Maan said.

With the cue Geet weaved a long list of things which has to be done till dinner “First we will visit a temple, then we will take sweets to home or else even better I would make some yummy delicious sweet myself and will share it with our parents, next we will have to pay a visit to the doctor also; actually it is too early to visit one but its okay no harm in paying one or two extra visit to doctor. You know at this time of the day at beach there will be no crowd so we can walk rather play in the water for a while.” Geet said giving a small chuckle whilst Maan kept on looking at her list. “Then…”Geet continued only to be interrupted by Maan

“Geet, slow down we have only few hours not a week that you are going on and on.” Maan said.

“I know we can’t cover entire things in half day but those are a part of the list of things which needs to be done. And I wanted you to know and now you do multi tasking drive us towards the temple and also hear the rest of my list.” Geet said.

“Temple…you should have told it before itself. Next to our office itself there is one.” Maan said.

“There I can’t go” Geet denied it outrightly. “Not until my delivery.”

Maan gave a confused look knowing her weird thinking. “Care to explain.”

“I want my first baby to be a boy. So I can’t climb the mountain, then how will I reach the shrine. Elders say when a woman in her pregnancy climbs a mountain she will have a girl baby.” Geet concluded.

“Geet, how can you depend on such things?” Maan questioned her. “How can your climbing mountain decide the gender of our baby?”

“I don’t know whether these things are true or false. Never ever had I got a chance to try before.” Geet said smiling sheepishly. “I don’t want to take any chances.”

“What if we have a baby girl itself even after this?” Maan asked her. “Would you not love her?”

“What are you saying? I would definitely treat her equally but somewhere I want a baby boy first. For next we can go for a girl, at that time I am ready to climb any number of mountains be it an Everest too but I have only one condition, you must accompany me there too.” Geet said as she rested her head over his shoulder.

Maan obliged her wishes as even he wanted a baby boy, with whom he could relive his life again.

So, she turned and went to get that … leaving Maan again to crib for her being missing…For one more time… Meri Biwi Kho Gayi Phirse.

Meri Biwi… Kho Gayi

Meri Biwi… Kho Gayi Phir Se

Maan Singh Khurana, one of the leading businessmen in this present era; had luxury of all happiness in his life except one that was his lady love. He was not someone who would compromise for the anything in life. Everything around him moved according to his wishes but then he should have known that change is the only thing which is constant. This would be the very day things started to change for him. This is the very day he met Geet. His and only lady love.

He wouldn’t have been in the plaza mall had it not been the very important meeting regarding the new project. The meeting went way beyond the schedule and now even the mall was up for closing. He skimmed through the doors of the mall to reach the exit. When something unexpected happened, he never expected to witness such a sight here. A girl in jeans and crop top was holding large canvas photo frame and arranging it in a gallery which was set to open next day. Even he had got the invitation for the opening ceremony but wasn’t interested at that time to attend but now he was already reconsidering that thought.  He remembered the owner’s name on it. “Geet Gupta…was she her?” He thought.

The girl was in her own world arranging her articles for the next day. Each photo she hung was analysed thoroughly about its placement. There weren’t any helpers around which clearly meant that she was the owner and who wanted things her way. He didn’t know when he stood behind her. He didn’t know from how long he was observing her. He wasn’t the one who would give away to the temptations but today that was irresistible.

Few of her tendrils had come out of her pony tail and were playing on her forehead but she wasn’t distracted from her work but someone else was getting disturbed by it. He wanted to push them aside as it was a hindrance for his adoration. A gentle breeze made him look at the sky making him realise even the stars didn’t match the brightness which he witnessed in her. The most punctual had forgotten he had passed his dinner time or to say precisely the world around him. Suddenly he was reminded of some lines from an old song which he used to think as rubbish but then it suited him aptly now.

Love, his mind alerted him at that word but then his heart was lost beyond his control. It is true that if you get a small thing you wish for more. He wished to witness more of it too. He wished to be invisible so that she wouldn’t find him staring at her. To his luck the lights went off reason he gauged it to be the closure of the mall. The guards might have missed looking at this side of the building as this was supposed to be inaugurated next day only. Whatever may be the reason? Now he stood watching her in low light and he could now clearly hear her complain to God.

He thought the lyrics of this song was apt for him as he was unsure of what will be her reaction when she notice him here and moreover he was also unsure when she would be his. Only then he could be at tranquilty.  Nevertheless when his heart was busy analysing the unsurety his sensible mind pitched in to lead through the fogged path. Advantags of being a businessman, he knew how to tackle the hurdles of life instantly. Only facing her would end this uncertainity. What would happen at the most she would reject but he had everything in him that would make her his. Why would there be any hurdle? If she can’t be in his home then he would shift into his. His love has led him to this stage; it would only let it lead the way to reach her.

One side Maan was contemplating his options while Geet was busy cursing her fate. “How could I forget to look at the time? The mall is locked up, lights are off and gallery is still not set. Tomorrow is the opening, am I going to welcome everyone in this condition. Where are those decorative candles, I could have used that now but only if I managed to get hold of it. Babaji help me.”

After couple of attempts she was finally able to manage to search them but without the lighter or a match box it was of no use.

“Babaji, you helped me to find them. Now how do I light them up.” She cribbed looking at the ceiling.

Maan smiled as he heard her complain and thought to face his future. He took out the lighter from his pocket and slowly started to light the candles which were spread out infront of her. Geet looked at the sole light which was diminishing the darkness in the room. Geet was startled out at first but then she thought some one else was still here and the mall people had not yet locked it. Hence she can always ask them to wait till she arranges the gallery.

“Thank you. But you could have switched on the lights rather than using my candles. It was for tomorrow’s decoration.” Geet said confidentially. “Great, now that you have lightened few it is enough for me to look at the arrangement. It would look exactly like this tomorrow too. Remaining I would arrange it morning. Now you can close this shop too. I will leave now.”

Maan was shocked at the audacity of this girl. Correction it should be his girl. She thought him to be a worker of this mall. But then he can always spare her this time. Offcourse he wouldn’t do that in future. (Author’s thought: But who was he to decide about that.)

Nevertheless Maan composed himself and smirked in his typical form as he said “And who are you to order that.”

The reply from Maan made Geet to observe him keenly. The light was still dim and he was glowing in the golden light. Now that she saw him there wasn’t an iota of doubt about him being the new personified handsome man. Then her eyes caught his attire, that wasn’t of any mall uniform and finally realisation dawn upon her. He wasn’t what she had thought off. And that also they are struck in the closed mall here.

She panicked as she packed her bag, unknowingly brushing her fingers with the fire of candle. She gasped slightly at the touch of hot fire drawing Maan’s attention towards the wound and Maan stretched out his hand whilst calling out loudly “Geet…” as if it burned him more than her. In a blink of eye he stood right behind her and took her fingers in his. He closed his eyes to etch these in his soul. Though the gap between them was not even a millimetre and he could see her but he wasn’t able to feel her.

There was something a miss; as if Geet was there but still not there with him. Just then he could here a faint sound of someone saying “prabhu … prabhu…”

He tried to feel Geet, who was infront of her but he felt someone taping his shoulders and again heard the slight voice again “prabhu… wake up… prabhu….”

Maan opened his eyes only to see a bright light blocking his vision and some guy waving his hands in front of him.

He looked around to realise where he was? His new driver was trying to wake him up but why did he had to. He didn’t wish to be alone away from Geet.

“prabhu…here have some water…” driver passed a bottle of water as he woke his master from some deep slumber.

He had to be calm and execute his plan efficiently to get his Geet back in his life forever. Maan wanted to end this hide and seek once it for all. Right now what he had to do was to wait for her return.

“prabhu… Chota maunh aur badi baat … If you don’t mind can I ask something” Driver asked whilst Maan just nodded approving him to ask.

“prabhu … you seem quite disturbed, if you want you can share it with your servant.” Driver requested.

“I was just worrying about Geet, she hasn’t returned yet. Has she gotten into some trouble again is what I am wondering.” Maan expressed his worry in front of his driver.

“prabhu… who is Geet??” he asked.

“Geet… She is my life; without her Maan Singh Khurana, the big shrewd businessman to the outer world is nothing.” Maan said and thought in his mind “From the day she came into his life; it has become more enthralling not only because she brought so many colors into his shaded life but also he had turned into a contended men not to forget the spice she added before and now it was extra spice.”

The driver gave a confused look to him whilst Maan gave a smile & proudly said “She is my wife Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana.”

“But prabhu…” Driver started to question again when Maan interrupted “Why are you calling me prabhu?”

“prabhu… There isn’t anything which you don’t know but still you are asking. Nevertheless I am only your servant, so what ever you ask it is my duty to answer. Prabhu, you may be known to the world as MSK but I know your true identity; you are Lord Rama, I didn’t even miss a single episode Ramayana when it came in television. I had waited every day patiently to watch the fresh episode and even I hadn’t missed any repeat telecast. I know I am nothing like your real brother Laxman but since I have his name. I am your servant as well.”

Maan looked shocked at his driver and thought from where did Adi found him. Atleast he need to check if he hasn’t escaped from any asylum “Look Laxman or whatever; I am not any Lord just a normal human being. So get that crap out of your mind.”

“As you say prabhu…” The driver said obediently. But his face clearly showed his confusion but then he cannot go against his master either so kept them to himself. There were numerous doubts which he wasn’t able to comprehend but mainly it was only two questions which were troubling him too much. First why didn’t his prabhu accept his true identity and secondly the most important why did he say that his wife is Geet and not Sita?

When Laxam was busy in searching the answers to them Maan happily dived into the memories of past the day he met her.

The moment Geet felt him behind him she was mystified as many unknown feelings started to creep into her unknowingly just as if a touch had pave way to the restricted area of her heart. So intimately that even she wasn’t aware that it existed previously. She was shrinking into a nut shell as if he would consume her. Geet pushed Maan away from herself She shouted at him “Stay away from me; you are infectious.”

First Maan didn’t hear what she said as he was busy taking her finger in his to sooth it but the touch made affected him and her eyes captivated him to forget the world around him. As slowly those words sank in he smirked widely and was back to corner her more.

“So you get affected with my presence, tell me do you get goose bumps when I touch you.” Maan whispered into her ears as he drew a line with his finger on her arm. “Do you feel someone doing a somersault in your stomach when I pull you into my embrace like this?”  He asked her cornering to a nearby wall.

“Who are you?” Geet asked gulping her saliva as she batted her eyelashes innocently somehow coming back to sense from the bewitching land of the necromancer. Who stood in full form today to swallow her in a second? She wondered was today some special day like full moon or blue moon where in these necromancer appeared to entrap new slaves.

“Maan Singh Khurana…..” Maan said as he kept her captive in against the pillar. He slowly brought out a candle infront of her as he didn’t want to miss the golden hue on her.

“You look magnificent in this light” he continued to say. With those words said Geet eyes became big wondering.

“Leave me” She pleaded half with fear of unknown.

“Why should I?” Maan replied still trying to close the distance which was apparently not much. Against his heart wish he gave a little space for her to sigh in relief but that one moment was what Geet needed to break free from the cage and cast away from his sight.

She flees to collect her bag but was stopped by Maan as he caught hold of her shawl making her stop in her tracks. “Where are you running? The mall is closed.” Maan said pulling her back in place.

Maan was actually mesmerised with the surroundings. All these candles & its scent were only making the situation against him. As he forgot she doesn’t know him and didn’t realise he was forcing her on his tunes. A wrong step now would only give the mistress an upper hand in future is what he negated. The more he troubles her in his ignorance; he would have to pay penalty multifold for it ahead. The moment he said the mall is closed, a fear started to dwell in her heart that this man has planned all this to trap her here.

“Tell me where will you run now???” Maan said as his fingers raised her chin to look into her eyes.

She didn’t want to show her feared self to him more than that how much he affected her. If only she could react normally; she would have made his life upside down by this time. There was something which held her back & rooted her in this place. Rather than meeting his eyes, she looked a bit below and next second regretted it too as now her eyes wandered in all wrong direction. His features were embedding in her essence and also wanted to preserve them in her camera. But something in her stopped putting them for business purpose; she shied thinking inwardly as she wanted it for herself only.

She thanked babaji as it was still dark and hid her sinful thoughts but again it was short lived as he brought out a candle from the next table to look at her more meticulously.

As the candle illuminated he could clearly see fear in those hazel brown eyes. “Geet…Why are you scared?”

Geet wanted to shout at him but alas all she could do was plead “Leave me…”

“Why??” Maan asks but Geet silence only makes him angered as why Geet refuses to reciprocate to his feelings. He who rules the world couldn’t get the approval of his own lady love.

“I have to go home.” Geet pleads again.

Not able to see the tears which were about to flow he pulled his mobile out and in a jiffy the doors were opened by bunch of mall staff who even apologized for the oversight and everyone were out of the mall. As she walked towards her vehicle the clog in her mind slowly evaded making her realise he wasn’t that bad that she got scared. She only had to tell once and then they were out of the locked mall. Geet wanted to thank him and looked behind to know if he was anywhere near her but he was nowhere.

Absent minded as she was started to kick start her scooter but it was just testing her patience. She tried all the ways she could think of but nothing ignited the engine. Tired she looked up whispering Babaji…

That’s when a sound came from the scooter Vrrrrommmmmm. Vrrrrrrrooom. When she looked at the person who started it; there was only gratitude at Maan as he accelerated more to keep the engine in running. She heard him say before he turned away “Next time start turning on the lock before you kick start it.”

“Maan…” She called out from behind before he vanished this time.

His legs freezes as his name came rolling out through her lips.

“Sorry….I mean Thank you…” Geet spoke and Maan turned to look at the small smile which adored her lips now. Geet continued “Tomorrow is a big day and I am still struck here. Sorry and thanks again. It would be my privilege if you could join me at this big occasion for me.”

Did he needed that invitation Maan thought anyways he had planned to gate crash the opening. But now he was more than happy to get the open invitation. “Meet you tomorrow then.” Maan said before he signalled for his car.

“Geet…would you mind if I ask something.” Maan asked as politely as possible but only he knew what his mind was already dreaming.

Geet stopped her bike and she stood facing Maan; the open air only made her more confident to face him.

“Marry me?” Maan said without a second thought as if he was offering some project to the other party.

Geet looked shocked at Maan as suddenly from nowhere he is asking her for marriage whilst Maan took small steps to cover the small distance between them and Geet moved back till her back hit by a car parked nearby. “I am not faking Geet…I love you from the very first sight.”

Looking at the hesitance clearly written on her face; Maan’s face saddens a bit making her feel terrible. Geet realize that he stood by her and helped her when she was in trouble. But that didn’t mean she would agree for his proposal too. However Geet manages to think of a solution so that it doesn’t hamper his happinesss “Maan…. I would agree if there is a snowfall in my home.” Geet ran away in her vehicle leaving Maan baffled.

Laxman thought to take a round while his prabhu was busy in dyaana. He didn’t want to be an object of his prabhu’s wrath. Though he knew that his Prabhu is very composed person who wouldn’t get angry still he didn’t want to get into his bad books. His duty is to serve his master and hence thought to look for some food as in a while the sun would be high in the sky to announce the lunch time. And in this deserted place he had to find food for all the 3 viz his prabhu, matte and their servant himself.

While he was searching around the place his mind was still struck at one place why his prabhu addressed Maate as Geet not as seetha. After looking around for while he finally managed to get some fruits. And by looking at the fruit his mind also could think of one solution.

Fortunately this time also the answer was arrived at with reference to his television. He had watched Seetha aur Geeta the other day. And they looked alike so Seetha is equal to Geeta whom prabhu might be calling as just Geet. His small brain could only think of this best solution.

He collected as much food possible and came back to the car where his prabhu was busy in his dyaan and was probable even enjoying in it as a smile was plastered on his face. Laxman further thought he could ask for a raise in his salary too but the refrained himself as it was not even a week after his joining.

Now his next problem was how to wake his prabhu would he mind or not. Would he get anger for disturbing him? Well he could always try. After having enough battle he woke his prabhu and offered the food he had brought.

Maan looked at him and questioned him “How did you get them? There aren’t any eatable items available nearby.”

“Prabhu, what is unknown to you; Still I would tell you, before joining here as a driver I used to work in Ishwarchand Thakur’s (Amitabh Bachan in Waqt movie) bungalow as a helper. Everything was just fine until his son Adi (Akshay Kumar) got married to Pooja (Priyanka Chopra). From that day onwards my life took a u turn.” Laxman started to narrate his story.

“Why did Thakur’s tortured you?” Maan asked wondering what happened with him.

“No No Thakur’s are very good but the problem was Nattu bhai, Pooja’s father (Boman Irani). Till today I don’t know why he always keeps me away, to an extent that he runs the moment I am infront of him. Prabhu … do you know why? Can you please solve this puzzle for me?” Laxman hoped to get some answers today.

“First tell me you part of the story. I might figure it out for you.” Maan replied as he wanted to know what happened in Thakur uncle’s house. As Maan’s father knew Ishwarchand Thakur quite closely.

“I only know this much…” Laxman said.

“What is the connection between you finding the food here and that Nattu Bhai.” Maan asked again.

“One day unexpectedly Nattu bhai came home very happily and called me; I was very happy as today he didn’t make me run nor did he ran but was welcoming me in open hands. He said he would take me to the film studio where Master Adi was shooting today. I thought he is happy as Master Adi got his first break but I was unaware of the brutal thinking of Nattu bhai. When we went to the studio he said there is a dress code & pushed me into a room asking me change into a red suit along with a helmet. I followed his instructions but when I came out he was not there. I started to look around the place when suddenly someone in the same dressed pulled me into a plane. I was very confused as the plane took off, I was stunned as to where they are taking me. Before I could think of any thing someone pushed me off the plane but fortunately God was with me as others also jumped behind me to save. After a while someone caught hold of my leg; like that everyone made a chain to save me but the air pressure was too high & hence the chain was broken. What happened next was unknown to until I got the consciousness and was struck in the nearby forest. I roamed around here for few days before finally coming out of it. One day suddenly I saw master Adi in an ad.” Laxman said & suddenly started to sing.

Dekho Dekhe Ye Zamana

Panchi Uda Jaye Re

Ud Jaye Re Ye Dekho Panchi

Ud Raha Ye Pankh Failaye

La La La La La Laa La

La La La La La Laa La….

La La La La La Laa La

La La La La La Laa La…

Zameen Ko Chhor Kar

Wo Dekho Udd Gaya

Ud Ud Uddd Ud Ud

Uddd Gaya Udd Gaya Udd Gaya

Dekho Dekhe Ye Zamana

Panchi Uda Jaye ….

That was Hero Honda’s ad. That day I realised I was framed in that ad. So I left the job & came to you prabhu.” Laxman concluded as he asked the final question. “Prabhu… Now could you clear my doubts…?”

But to his astonishment Maan had dived back into the world of his Geet. For which Laxman could only crib “Prabhu… even you didn’t hear to me.”

After that day Maan made sure he met Geet every now and then. These meetings did have a reason but majority of them didn’t have one. But one thing was common in these meetings and that was Maan’s question “Geet…when will you give me proper answer?”

And Geet would easily dodge that by saying “I would reply the day we have snowfall in Delhi.”

Surprisingly that was the only day when Maan could scare Geet as later it turned out to be the vice versa of it. She made sure to treat him as a friend, one day she might change her prospective but that was definitely not today was what she believed.

As the days rolled by Maan was getting used to her rule over him or to be loved being ruled by her. There was one such occasion that was on cards which could make help him mellow Geet. Though it was unknown as to how much he would succeed in that plan nevertheless he could always give it a try by arranging a party for her on her birthday. He always preferred privacy so he didn’t invite anyone but planned a surprise party at her home itself. It wasn’t that difficult to break in as he knew her arrival timings everyday. Everyday in and out time was known to him.

On that day Maan decorated the home and set the dinner table for two. He had been ignoring her calls from morning which he had never done earlier but then he was busy in surprise. It was 20 minutes past 10 in the night and Maan had been waiting from past 1 hour already. Geet usually made it by 8 but today she wasn’t here that did trouble him. Then he also knew she forgets to take a look at the watch when she was busy in her work. He further thought just like the day he met her in the mall.

Here in the mall Geet had wound up by 7 itself but she was not in the mood to go home. She didn’t wanted to be alone today so she visited every other street to keep herself busy. Whilst she cribbed “Babaji, out of all these days why Maan had to not pick her calls today itself?” She was already away from her parents and tomorrow on her birthday she would be alone too. Tired of walking she thought to finally crash the bed.

She methodically opened the door; however she didn’t want to have anything but to directly land in the bed so she didn’t bother to even switch on the lights or to change her dress. She was feeling extremely low because on her birthday there would be neither her family nor Maan. She chided herself saying “Why was she even expecting something from him? He didn’t know also.” Putting aside all the thoughts to rest she drifted into sleep on her bed next to Maan, who had also slept off while waiting for Geet.

It was somewhere in the middle of the night Geet turned and she felt a bit chill so she searched for some warmth and snuggled but in that process she felt a person next to her, she thought it is her Maa and murmur “Miss you a lot Maa…” But suddenly she realized it was not her maa as it was a hard and substantially heavy. “Did someone break into her home?” She wondered.

At the other side Maan’s sleep broke and he spoke “Oh fish….She is back…”

Next second she raised and pulled out a stick which was next to her for beating the day light out of the thief. She shouted at her high pitch “How dare you try to break into my home? Thief… What did you steal? Hand it over to me. What did you think lonely girl stays in this house and you can easily steal anything here? I would break your bones today.”

Geet went on scolding him while in between she didn’t forget to spill all the profanities she could think of in the middle of the banging marathon. While at the other end Maan was startled at the sudden hits he was getting that too for planning a surprise for her.

“Geet…Geet… Stop.” Maan tried to speak admist of the assault.

“Babaji, looks like he is a high tech thief” Geet thought and said aloud “You came in here after doing even back ground check. Today consider it as the last day when you would even think to slip into others home. Will you be quite if someone breaks into your home?”

Geet’s words made him think; he would have killed that person for intervening into his space & here what did he do? Maan would have gone into his deep thoughts but then “Ouch…” Geet’s regular hits made him realize he needs to stop her or else he would definitely land in hospital. What will the world say if they come to know that he was beaten up by his lady love?

The yelp made Geet to ask “Did it hurt?”

“Yes…” Maan said and got a reply “That’s what you deserve.” And Geet continued to ponder on him.

He caught hold of her hand tightly and pushed her on the bed. After a bit struggle he pressed himself more on her to keep her caged and she was below him; his one hand closed her mooth to stop her rattling while the other searched the bed lamp on her side table. Finally which felt like eternity Maan enlightened the room which put a full stop to all her struggle.

The moment Geet saw that it was Maan who was infront of her; there was a sudden delight that she hugged him with full force. All her gloominess of the evening had vanished just in a second.

One the other side Maan was surprised when she hugged him all of a sudden that too just after receiving the hammering. He could feel her shaken self and a bit sob did escape from her mouth. Against his hearts desire he parted a little and looked into her eyes to see what the matter was.

“Geet….what happened??? I am here, you don’t have to get scared of me” Maan said wiping off the lone tear which was about to trail down her cheeks.

“I wasn’t scared you thief but just glad that…” Geet stopped in mid as she completed the rest in her mind “you are there for my birthday and I don’t have to be alone.”

“I am not thief.” Maan argued.

“Oh really… then what are doing in my home at this time.” Geet asked sceptically. “Did your company get bankrupt that you started to the side business of stealing?”

“You are calling Maan Singh Khurana, a thief.” Maan looked at her with accusing eyes while continued to say “If I was really one then I would have first stolen the most precious thing here.”

Geet gave a confused look to which he replied “You”

“Yes… that’s why you have been ignoring my calls today.” She cribbed and turned to move back into the living room so that she can show him the way out.

Whilst Maan looked at the watch and thankfully it was just 30 mintues away for her birthday. Similing at his luck he started to sing

O meri soni meri tamanna

jhoot nahin hai mera pyaar

diwane se ho gai galati

jaane do yaar

I love you

I love you

Geet stood in her track just outside her room and she cribbed to her babaji loudly so that even he could hear her out “Babaji…you could find me only this old track record as my Romeo…” saying so she wanted to bang something on him when he changed his record to something different.

He moved closer to her as he made his intentions clear that’s when he heard her say “Angreez chalegaye …. Inhe chod gaye…”

“Happy now…” Maan asked while continued next set of lines

Geet gets embarrassed as she finally could accept it to her self that he is the only one for her too.

“Hey-Ya,-Hey-Ya” Maan called her out of her lost self.

She knew he did think of her everytime and was a bit crazy too. Offcourse no one could beat her.

Maan finally concluded as he brought her into his arms. “You Are The Only One For Me….”

Geet felt something soft being showered on her. She thought it to be rose petals but when she opened her eyes to confirm it but then it wasn’t. As creamy flakes kind of thing was getting showered from above.

“Maan… OMG… my home…owner uncle would blast me but how did this happen. Roof ceiling must have cracked and now the paint was falling apart. See I could feel the sticky material on my arm.” Geet exclaimed.

“Geet… this is snow flakes.” Maan said stopping her.

“Oh then definitely there is a crack in the roof… Babaji my whole month earnings would go for this repair now.” Geet made a face as she was about to rush.

“Geet… Where are you going?” Maan asked.

“To get a shawal… it is very chill already and if this goes on the whole night then I would freeze in this chillness.” Geet explained.

“Let me switch off the A/c then you wouldn’t” Maan replied as he became concerned.

“Airconditioner…” Geet wondered “Then that means these are not real snow.”

“Offcourse they were just a part of your condition.” Maan said similing “So from now on you are mine.”

“Thank God. My roof is safe.” Geet said.

“You have more concern for the roof and not mine.” Maan cribbed as if it was his turn now.

“Now it is too late. I need to clear this up and sleep. Will you leave now?” Geet asked wanting to escape from his securitizing eyes.

“Not before we celebrate our day. Let me get the cake.” Maan said as he walked into the kitchen to get it.

Before Geet could think of understand Maan was back with a cake which read Happy Birthday on it. She was overwhelmed that he did know that it was her day. Indeed he made it a very memorable day.

Maan gestured Geet to blow the lights of the candle and wish for something and she obligied with it “I love you Maan. I want to be always with you.”

That was the night of a new beginning.

But today Geet was all alone in an isolated place away from Maan. She searched for her friend for more than half day there. Now after roaming around she had also lost her way out to reach to Maan. Unfortunately even her mobile was in her bag which was with Maan. She tried to look for any familiar clue around which she would have witnessed while reaching this place but then there were none and chances to reach safely back to her husband was diminishing. She had just yesterday told Maan that she wouldn’t drift away from him; this time he would definitely not be nice.

She was tired of walking around the same place again and again. She was hungry too now, with the word food she was reminded of the breakfast which she shared with Maan in the morning but at this stage she even wondered whether she would ever get back to that place. Today was the worst day for her as she was unable to see her friend and also was unable to get back to the safe arms of her love.

After roving for few more miles she came across a beautiful lake but alas she neither was in the state to cherish that nature nor did she have any equipment to capture it to cherish later. But then she was too drained so thought to rest for a while in the shade near the lake.

She was lost looking at the lake when there was a meek sound of crushing of dry leaves was someone or something approaching towards her was the first thing which came to her mind. There could be any dangerous animal that will be ready to make her as his lunch. Geet thought almost at the verge of crying “Babaji, I was asking about obtaining some food not being someone else food. Maan will I ever be able to see you”

She looked for some stones to hit them so that she could scare it away and save herself. But her patience was running out with the slow and scary self. The faster she escapes from this trap the faster she would be able to breathe peacefully. She swore that she would lock in her home for some time away from all the troubles.

Suddenly the sound became heavy; indicating that the uninvited guest was very near to her. She was ready to throw the stone when someone came running into her scaring her even more. But her scream made the other person even scarier.

“Who are you?” Geet was the first to realise and question at the person who was infront of her in a tribal dress is what she believed.

“I am your future husband.” He said.

“What?” Geet exclaimed as she looked at the fat guy infront of her.

“Yes…kudiye…I will marry you.” He said.

Geet thought she could take his help and walk out of this place. So she wanted to handle this person nicely and not instigate him and make situation even worse.

“What’s your name?” Geet asked.

“My name….Mama… or even mame. That’s what my Lucky calls me.” He said and came near her and whispered so that no one else can know. “To tell you the secret I keep forgetting my name too.”

“oh…What else do you forget??” Geet asked.

“Who said I forget things… I always win in memory test.” He said already forgetting what he acknowledged earlier.

“I don’t agree with you.” Geet argued.

“Why so?” He asked.

“Then show me the road towards highway.” Geet challenged.

“Which way are you referring too?” He questioned

“That grey patch road where big big color color boats zooms away. Even people sit those boats.” Geet tried to describe in a different way to make him understand.

“Oh that way I know I know…” He agreed very easily but that made Geet wondered will he be able to show the right path or not.

Anyways she didn’t have any other option to flow him. She could always give it a try. They both walked together for a long time along with speaking all kind of senseless things to kill there time. Suddenly she came across a place which she identified that to be the place where she and Maan had spent last evening. That lead was enough that she could find a way out of this jizsaw puzzle. But this Mama or Mame was taking into the woods which could lead her into deeper forest. She silently thought to dodge him and reach a way out.

And fortunately she did finally manage to do that and came to the place where she had left Maan. She prayed that he waited for her there itself and not ventured to search her in this place which was though isolated was easy to get lost.

Maan sat relaxed as he saw her coming running towards the car into his arms saying sorry for making him wait here and also for putting him under stress.

Maan was elated as at the end his Sajaniya did come back without his intervention. His plan to keep her friend hidden with him was sucessful. Now she would never run behind that.

After a while when things settled she asked

“What were you doing here alone?”

“Nothing much just was looking for some girls who could suit me but none could match according to my requirement.” Maan said unknown to the meaning she understood. “Some did look good but they were all a façade. They would run away in just a day.”

“What you were sitting here and looking for girls to date.” Geet said with astonishment.

“Arey… I was looking for secretary in” Maan said before she went on to beat him again.

“Really…give me your laptop I will check…” Geet asked.

“Take it but now the battery has died you look at it after reaching home.” Maan said.

Geet looked bit satisfied and agreed to look into it later whilst Maan looked for his driver Laxman and told him to take them home.

“Ji Prabhu…” He replied obediently.

Laxman then looked at Geet as if to know who she was and asked Maan “Prabhu… who is she?”

“Geet… My wife.” Maan said.

“But she is not Seeta then how can she be your wife.” Laxman asked puzzled. This only resulted in glares from Maan to Laxman and Geet glaring at Maan. This was the first time Ram (Maan) would get slay because of Laxman that to in the hands of Seeta (Geet).

Now who was to save him from his own Sajaniya…
