Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 20

Part 20

Maan was in his call for a long time, he wanted to get through it as fast as possible but then this client was not letting him and he was definitely not in the mood of business today. He wanted to spend his time with Geet rather than with his mobile. One statement from Geet has already changed his addictive nature towards work; as the minutes ticked his patience was running out. But being the client he had to be polite; at this moment he decided to take the serious action and cut short his clients’ words and ends it sooner.

Next what he had to do was to book a place very they could have their own sweet time for a while. He wanted to say so much to her but then words were at short for expressing his happiness today. He didn’t have to think twice before arranging for a small dinner outing for the night. Booking, arrangements & menu was all fixed in seconds; he wanted all the things perfect and should be comfortable too.

He thought to call her over phone to pack her bag so that they can leave but then why to waste time in calling he would pick her up on the way and leave. Today he was in a hurry but that was unknown to others so if someone came by mistake also infront of him with some issue, they were sure to get fired by him.

Unfortunately today it was Arjun, just outside the cabin Maan was stopped by him.

“Boss…” Arjun called out.

“Not now Arjun…” Maan said.

“But Boss … in the xyz project we have come across a small hitch and tomorrow afternoon we have to present the designs to the clients.” Arjun framed his sentence quite well getting the hint of temper in boss’s voice but didn’t know his luck was not with him today.

“I said not now…handle it however you can or else postpone the meeting.” Maan said rather should be termed as his verdict.

“Geet… come with me now.” Maan said it firmly but the staff felt that today their boss was up for something. They could only pray for Geet’s safety.

Geet understood the reason behind the frustration poured out on Arjun followed silently behind him. She knew he was not or to say never could get anger on her. Once out alone away from the confines of the interference he would be normal.

Maaneet made their way out and the gossip mill started to run in full swing inside the office. Everyone had their bit of information to share with.

One said “Geet got a letter of promotion.”

“She rejected it.” said another.

“Why did she do so?” someother asked.

“It isn’t easy to handle things here. Even Geet couldn’t handle it, did you miss to see the tears which she wiped when she came out of the boss cabin. I am sure something serious must have happened.” Added a person.

“Why was she crying?” Someone questioned.

“Offcourse Boss would have been unhappy because she rejected his offer.” replied the one who was questioned.

Speculations, debates and different conclusions were being drawn by each and everyone present in the office. Some did it openly but some had it with themself. But out there away from these ridicule discussion Maaneet were having their moments.

They entered the lift and in that moment did Geet try to calm Maan as she rubbed her palm against his strong arms. “You didn’t have to be rude to him. And from when did MSK started putting your work behind. This is your first baby right.” Geet said sweetly.

“Yes, that is but I even know it can flourish without much of my intervention. People out there are being paid to take care of it and they are trust worthy enough for me to handle this new life.” Maan said as he slowly cornered her to a side of the life.

“So atleast now I get your whole attention.” Geet said smiling at his acceptance.

Maan pushed away the strands as he rested one hand at the wall behind her and the other moved to feel the life inside her and whispered “I Love You” but then he didn’t exepct silence at those words.

There was ding sound of the lift heard to break the silence and then Maan repeated again those words thinking she wants to hear it again “I Love you” but Geet replied pointing her finger towards him and slightly pushing him away “I hate you” and walked away from the lift.

Here Maan stood wondering why Geet reacted in such a way but rather than wondering he thought to check with her and he followed her. Unaware that Minal had witnessed their little exchange of words and needless to say that she was shocked to no extent. Geet was waiting next to his car; actually she was even cutier with that little anger on her face. He unlocked the car as she gladly occupied the place ignoring Maan royally.

Maan was contemplating how to make her speak out as she was not responding to any questions now.

“Geet … how about I get you an ice cream and you tell me why you are angry” Maan thought atleast now she will spill it.

“See Babaji; he only got the news today and today itself he doesn’t even understand why I am angry. What will happen when our baby will be in our hands? I am sure he would forget even my existence.” Geet cribbed loudly enough to convey her reason.

Maan instantly stopped the car hearing her explanation. Was she the same women who took such a mature decision a while ago? She thought it was just for baby and not for her as his one hand was on her stomach. Well he didn’t have any other option but to clarify her unnecessary doubt. He stepped out and bought some ice creams which as expected did melt her anger. And now she was back to herself, the issue was forgotten as the ice cream dissolved.

“Where are we going?” Geet asked in mid of her ice cream massacre.

“We are going to celebrate at the abc place; a candle light dinner.” Maan said smiling.

“Dinner this early?” Geet said as it was still 2 in the afternoon.

“Yes, that is what I have planned, till dinner time your driver is ready to take you to any place you wish for.” Maan said.

With the cue Geet weaved a long list of things which has to be done till dinner “First we will visit a temple, then we will take sweets to home or else even better I would make some yummy delicious sweet myself and will share it with our parents, next we will have to pay a visit to the doctor also; actually it is too early to visit one but its okay no harm in paying one or two extra visit to doctor. You know at this time of the day at beach there will be no crowd so we can walk rather play in the water for a while.” Geet said giving a small chuckle whilst Maan kept on looking at her list. “Then…”Geet continued only to be interrupted by Maan

“Geet, slow down we have only few hours not a week that you are going on and on.” Maan said.

“I know we can’t cover entire things in half day but those are a part of the list of things which needs to be done. And I wanted you to know and now you do multi tasking drive us towards the temple and also hear the rest of my list.” Geet said.

“Temple…you should have told it before itself. Next to our office itself there is one.” Maan said.

“There I can’t go” Geet denied it outrightly. “Not until my delivery.”

Maan gave a confused look knowing her weird thinking. “Care to explain.”

“I want my first baby to be a boy. So I can’t climb the mountain, then how will I reach the shrine. Elders say when a woman in her pregnancy climbs a mountain she will have a girl baby.” Geet concluded.

“Geet, how can you depend on such things?” Maan questioned her. “How can your climbing mountain decide the gender of our baby?”

“I don’t know whether these things are true or false. Never ever had I got a chance to try before.” Geet said smiling sheepishly. “I don’t want to take any chances.”

“What if we have a baby girl itself even after this?” Maan asked her. “Would you not love her?”

“What are you saying? I would definitely treat her equally but somewhere I want a baby boy first. For next we can go for a girl, at that time I am ready to climb any number of mountains be it an Everest too but I have only one condition, you must accompany me there too.” Geet said as she rested her head over his shoulder.

Maan obliged her wishes as even he wanted a baby boy, with whom he could relive his life again.

Meri Biwi… Kho Gayi

Meri Biwi… Kho Gayi Phir Se

Maan Singh Khurana, one of the leading businessmen in this present era; had luxury of all happiness in his life except one that was his lady love. He was not someone who would compromise for the anything in life. Everything around him moved according to his wishes but then he should have known that change is the only thing which is constant. This would be the very day things started to change for him. This is the very day he met Geet. His and only lady love.

He wouldn’t have been in the plaza mall had it not been the very important meeting regarding the new project. The meeting went way beyond the schedule and now even the mall was up for closing. He skimmed through the doors of the mall to reach the exit. When something unexpected happened, he never expected to witness such a sight here. A girl in jeans and crop top was holding large canvas photo frame and arranging it in a gallery which was set to open next day. Even he had got the invitation for the opening ceremony but wasn’t interested at that time to attend but now he was already reconsidering that thought.  He remembered the owner’s name on it. “Geet Gupta…was she her?” He thought.

The girl was in her own world arranging her articles for the next day. Each photo she hung was analysed thoroughly about its placement. There weren’t any helpers around which clearly meant that she was the owner and who wanted things her way. He didn’t know when he stood behind her. He didn’t know from how long he was observing her. He wasn’t the one who would give away to the temptations but today that was irresistible.

Few of her tendrils had come out of her pony tail and were playing on her forehead but she wasn’t distracted from her work but someone else was getting disturbed by it. He wanted to push them aside as it was a hindrance for his adoration. A gentle breeze made him look at the sky making him realise even the stars didn’t match the brightness which he witnessed in her. The most punctual had forgotten he had passed his dinner time or to say precisely the world around him. Suddenly he was reminded of some lines from an old song which he used to think as rubbish but then it suited him aptly now.

Love, his mind alerted him at that word but then his heart was lost beyond his control. It is true that if you get a small thing you wish for more. He wished to witness more of it too. He wished to be invisible so that she wouldn’t find him staring at her. To his luck the lights went off reason he gauged it to be the closure of the mall. The guards might have missed looking at this side of the building as this was supposed to be inaugurated next day only. Whatever may be the reason? Now he stood watching her in low light and he could now clearly hear her complain to God.

He thought the lyrics of this song was apt for him as he was unsure of what will be her reaction when she notice him here and moreover he was also unsure when she would be his. Only then he could be at tranquilty.  Nevertheless when his heart was busy analysing the unsurety his sensible mind pitched in to lead through the fogged path. Advantags of being a businessman, he knew how to tackle the hurdles of life instantly. Only facing her would end this uncertainity. What would happen at the most she would reject but he had everything in him that would make her his. Why would there be any hurdle? If she can’t be in his home then he would shift into his. His love has led him to this stage; it would only let it lead the way to reach her.

One side Maan was contemplating his options while Geet was busy cursing her fate. “How could I forget to look at the time? The mall is locked up, lights are off and gallery is still not set. Tomorrow is the opening, am I going to welcome everyone in this condition. Where are those decorative candles, I could have used that now but only if I managed to get hold of it. Babaji help me.”

After couple of attempts she was finally able to manage to search them but without the lighter or a match box it was of no use.

“Babaji, you helped me to find them. Now how do I light them up.” She cribbed looking at the ceiling.

Maan smiled as he heard her complain and thought to face his future. He took out the lighter from his pocket and slowly started to light the candles which were spread out infront of her. Geet looked at the sole light which was diminishing the darkness in the room. Geet was startled out at first but then she thought some one else was still here and the mall people had not yet locked it. Hence she can always ask them to wait till she arranges the gallery.

“Thank you. But you could have switched on the lights rather than using my candles. It was for tomorrow’s decoration.” Geet said confidentially. “Great, now that you have lightened few it is enough for me to look at the arrangement. It would look exactly like this tomorrow too. Remaining I would arrange it morning. Now you can close this shop too. I will leave now.”

Maan was shocked at the audacity of this girl. Correction it should be his girl. She thought him to be a worker of this mall. But then he can always spare her this time. Offcourse he wouldn’t do that in future. (Author’s thought: But who was he to decide about that.)

Nevertheless Maan composed himself and smirked in his typical form as he said “And who are you to order that.”

The reply from Maan made Geet to observe him keenly. The light was still dim and he was glowing in the golden light. Now that she saw him there wasn’t an iota of doubt about him being the new personified handsome man. Then her eyes caught his attire, that wasn’t of any mall uniform and finally realisation dawn upon her. He wasn’t what she had thought off. And that also they are struck in the closed mall here.

She panicked as she packed her bag, unknowingly brushing her fingers with the fire of candle. She gasped slightly at the touch of hot fire drawing Maan’s attention towards the wound and Maan stretched out his hand whilst calling out loudly “Geet…” as if it burned him more than her. In a blink of eye he stood right behind her and took her fingers in his. He closed his eyes to etch these in his soul. Though the gap between them was not even a millimetre and he could see her but he wasn’t able to feel her.

There was something a miss; as if Geet was there but still not there with him. Just then he could here a faint sound of someone saying “prabhu … prabhu…”

He tried to feel Geet, who was infront of her but he felt someone taping his shoulders and again heard the slight voice again “prabhu… wake up… prabhu….”

Maan opened his eyes only to see a bright light blocking his vision and some guy waving his hands in front of him.

He looked around to realise where he was? His new driver was trying to wake him up but why did he had to. He didn’t wish to be alone away from Geet.

“prabhu…here have some water…” driver passed a bottle of water as he woke his master from some deep slumber.

He had to be calm and execute his plan efficiently to get his Geet back in his life forever. Maan wanted to end this hide and seek once it for all. Right now what he had to do was to wait for her return.

“prabhu… Chota maunh aur badi baat … If you don’t mind can I ask something” Driver asked whilst Maan just nodded approving him to ask.

“prabhu … you seem quite disturbed, if you want you can share it with your servant.” Driver requested.

“I was just worrying about Geet, she hasn’t returned yet. Has she gotten into some trouble again is what I am wondering.” Maan expressed his worry in front of his driver.

“prabhu… who is Geet??” he asked.

“Geet… She is my life; without her Maan Singh Khurana, the big shrewd businessman to the outer world is nothing.” Maan said and thought in his mind “From the day she came into his life; it has become more enthralling not only because she brought so many colors into his shaded life but also he had turned into a contended men not to forget the spice she added before and now it was extra spice.”

The driver gave a confused look to him whilst Maan gave a smile & proudly said “She is my wife Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana.”

“But prabhu…” Driver started to question again when Maan interrupted “Why are you calling me prabhu?”

“prabhu… There isn’t anything which you don’t know but still you are asking. Nevertheless I am only your servant, so what ever you ask it is my duty to answer. Prabhu, you may be known to the world as MSK but I know your true identity; you are Lord Rama, I didn’t even miss a single episode Ramayana when it came in television. I had waited every day patiently to watch the fresh episode and even I hadn’t missed any repeat telecast. I know I am nothing like your real brother Laxman but since I have his name. I am your servant as well.”

Maan looked shocked at his driver and thought from where did Adi found him. Atleast he need to check if he hasn’t escaped from any asylum “Look Laxman or whatever; I am not any Lord just a normal human being. So get that crap out of your mind.”

“As you say prabhu…” The driver said obediently. But his face clearly showed his confusion but then he cannot go against his master either so kept them to himself. There were numerous doubts which he wasn’t able to comprehend but mainly it was only two questions which were troubling him too much. First why didn’t his prabhu accept his true identity and secondly the most important why did he say that his wife is Geet and not Sita?

When Laxam was busy in searching the answers to them Maan happily dived into the memories of past the day he met her.

The moment Geet felt him behind him she was mystified as many unknown feelings started to creep into her unknowingly just as if a touch had pave way to the restricted area of her heart. So intimately that even she wasn’t aware that it existed previously. She was shrinking into a nut shell as if he would consume her. Geet pushed Maan away from herself She shouted at him “Stay away from me; you are infectious.”

First Maan didn’t hear what she said as he was busy taking her finger in his to sooth it but the touch made affected him and her eyes captivated him to forget the world around him. As slowly those words sank in he smirked widely and was back to corner her more.

“So you get affected with my presence, tell me do you get goose bumps when I touch you.” Maan whispered into her ears as he drew a line with his finger on her arm. “Do you feel someone doing a somersault in your stomach when I pull you into my embrace like this?”  He asked her cornering to a nearby wall.

“Who are you?” Geet asked gulping her saliva as she batted her eyelashes innocently somehow coming back to sense from the bewitching land of the necromancer. Who stood in full form today to swallow her in a second? She wondered was today some special day like full moon or blue moon where in these necromancer appeared to entrap new slaves.

“Maan Singh Khurana…..” Maan said as he kept her captive in against the pillar. He slowly brought out a candle infront of her as he didn’t want to miss the golden hue on her.

“You look magnificent in this light” he continued to say. With those words said Geet eyes became big wondering.

“Leave me” She pleaded half with fear of unknown.

“Why should I?” Maan replied still trying to close the distance which was apparently not much. Against his heart wish he gave a little space for her to sigh in relief but that one moment was what Geet needed to break free from the cage and cast away from his sight.

She flees to collect her bag but was stopped by Maan as he caught hold of her shawl making her stop in her tracks. “Where are you running? The mall is closed.” Maan said pulling her back in place.

Maan was actually mesmerised with the surroundings. All these candles & its scent were only making the situation against him. As he forgot she doesn’t know him and didn’t realise he was forcing her on his tunes. A wrong step now would only give the mistress an upper hand in future is what he negated. The more he troubles her in his ignorance; he would have to pay penalty multifold for it ahead. The moment he said the mall is closed, a fear started to dwell in her heart that this man has planned all this to trap her here.

“Tell me where will you run now???” Maan said as his fingers raised her chin to look into her eyes.

She didn’t want to show her feared self to him more than that how much he affected her. If only she could react normally; she would have made his life upside down by this time. There was something which held her back & rooted her in this place. Rather than meeting his eyes, she looked a bit below and next second regretted it too as now her eyes wandered in all wrong direction. His features were embedding in her essence and also wanted to preserve them in her camera. But something in her stopped putting them for business purpose; she shied thinking inwardly as she wanted it for herself only.

She thanked babaji as it was still dark and hid her sinful thoughts but again it was short lived as he brought out a candle from the next table to look at her more meticulously.

As the candle illuminated he could clearly see fear in those hazel brown eyes. “Geet…Why are you scared?”

Geet wanted to shout at him but alas all she could do was plead “Leave me…”

“Why??” Maan asks but Geet silence only makes him angered as why Geet refuses to reciprocate to his feelings. He who rules the world couldn’t get the approval of his own lady love.

“I have to go home.” Geet pleads again.

Not able to see the tears which were about to flow he pulled his mobile out and in a jiffy the doors were opened by bunch of mall staff who even apologized for the oversight and everyone were out of the mall. As she walked towards her vehicle the clog in her mind slowly evaded making her realise he wasn’t that bad that she got scared. She only had to tell once and then they were out of the locked mall. Geet wanted to thank him and looked behind to know if he was anywhere near her but he was nowhere.

Absent minded as she was started to kick start her scooter but it was just testing her patience. She tried all the ways she could think of but nothing ignited the engine. Tired she looked up whispering Babaji…

That’s when a sound came from the scooter Vrrrrommmmmm. Vrrrrrrrooom. When she looked at the person who started it; there was only gratitude at Maan as he accelerated more to keep the engine in running. She heard him say before he turned away “Next time start turning on the lock before you kick start it.”

“Maan…” She called out from behind before he vanished this time.

His legs freezes as his name came rolling out through her lips.

“Sorry….I mean Thank you…” Geet spoke and Maan turned to look at the small smile which adored her lips now. Geet continued “Tomorrow is a big day and I am still struck here. Sorry and thanks again. It would be my privilege if you could join me at this big occasion for me.”

Did he needed that invitation Maan thought anyways he had planned to gate crash the opening. But now he was more than happy to get the open invitation. “Meet you tomorrow then.” Maan said before he signalled for his car.

“Geet…would you mind if I ask something.” Maan asked as politely as possible but only he knew what his mind was already dreaming.

Geet stopped her bike and she stood facing Maan; the open air only made her more confident to face him.

“Marry me?” Maan said without a second thought as if he was offering some project to the other party.

Geet looked shocked at Maan as suddenly from nowhere he is asking her for marriage whilst Maan took small steps to cover the small distance between them and Geet moved back till her back hit by a car parked nearby. “I am not faking Geet…I love you from the very first sight.”

Looking at the hesitance clearly written on her face; Maan’s face saddens a bit making her feel terrible. Geet realize that he stood by her and helped her when she was in trouble. But that didn’t mean she would agree for his proposal too. However Geet manages to think of a solution so that it doesn’t hamper his happinesss “Maan…. I would agree if there is a snowfall in my home.” Geet ran away in her vehicle leaving Maan baffled.

Laxman thought to take a round while his prabhu was busy in dyaana. He didn’t want to be an object of his prabhu’s wrath. Though he knew that his Prabhu is very composed person who wouldn’t get angry still he didn’t want to get into his bad books. His duty is to serve his master and hence thought to look for some food as in a while the sun would be high in the sky to announce the lunch time. And in this deserted place he had to find food for all the 3 viz his prabhu, matte and their servant himself.

While he was searching around the place his mind was still struck at one place why his prabhu addressed Maate as Geet not as seetha. After looking around for while he finally managed to get some fruits. And by looking at the fruit his mind also could think of one solution.

Fortunately this time also the answer was arrived at with reference to his television. He had watched Seetha aur Geeta the other day. And they looked alike so Seetha is equal to Geeta whom prabhu might be calling as just Geet. His small brain could only think of this best solution.

He collected as much food possible and came back to the car where his prabhu was busy in his dyaan and was probable even enjoying in it as a smile was plastered on his face. Laxman further thought he could ask for a raise in his salary too but the refrained himself as it was not even a week after his joining.

Now his next problem was how to wake his prabhu would he mind or not. Would he get anger for disturbing him? Well he could always try. After having enough battle he woke his prabhu and offered the food he had brought.

Maan looked at him and questioned him “How did you get them? There aren’t any eatable items available nearby.”

“Prabhu, what is unknown to you; Still I would tell you, before joining here as a driver I used to work in Ishwarchand Thakur’s (Amitabh Bachan in Waqt movie) bungalow as a helper. Everything was just fine until his son Adi (Akshay Kumar) got married to Pooja (Priyanka Chopra). From that day onwards my life took a u turn.” Laxman started to narrate his story.

“Why did Thakur’s tortured you?” Maan asked wondering what happened with him.

“No No Thakur’s are very good but the problem was Nattu bhai, Pooja’s father (Boman Irani). Till today I don’t know why he always keeps me away, to an extent that he runs the moment I am infront of him. Prabhu … do you know why? Can you please solve this puzzle for me?” Laxman hoped to get some answers today.

“First tell me you part of the story. I might figure it out for you.” Maan replied as he wanted to know what happened in Thakur uncle’s house. As Maan’s father knew Ishwarchand Thakur quite closely.

“I only know this much…” Laxman said.

“What is the connection between you finding the food here and that Nattu Bhai.” Maan asked again.

“One day unexpectedly Nattu bhai came home very happily and called me; I was very happy as today he didn’t make me run nor did he ran but was welcoming me in open hands. He said he would take me to the film studio where Master Adi was shooting today. I thought he is happy as Master Adi got his first break but I was unaware of the brutal thinking of Nattu bhai. When we went to the studio he said there is a dress code & pushed me into a room asking me change into a red suit along with a helmet. I followed his instructions but when I came out he was not there. I started to look around the place when suddenly someone in the same dressed pulled me into a plane. I was very confused as the plane took off, I was stunned as to where they are taking me. Before I could think of any thing someone pushed me off the plane but fortunately God was with me as others also jumped behind me to save. After a while someone caught hold of my leg; like that everyone made a chain to save me but the air pressure was too high & hence the chain was broken. What happened next was unknown to until I got the consciousness and was struck in the nearby forest. I roamed around here for few days before finally coming out of it. One day suddenly I saw master Adi in an ad.” Laxman said & suddenly started to sing.

Dekho Dekhe Ye Zamana

Panchi Uda Jaye Re

Ud Jaye Re Ye Dekho Panchi

Ud Raha Ye Pankh Failaye

La La La La La Laa La

La La La La La Laa La….

La La La La La Laa La

La La La La La Laa La…

Zameen Ko Chhor Kar

Wo Dekho Udd Gaya

Ud Ud Uddd Ud Ud

Uddd Gaya Udd Gaya Udd Gaya

Dekho Dekhe Ye Zamana

Panchi Uda Jaye ….

That was Hero Honda’s ad. That day I realised I was framed in that ad. So I left the job & came to you prabhu.” Laxman concluded as he asked the final question. “Prabhu… Now could you clear my doubts…?”

But to his astonishment Maan had dived back into the world of his Geet. For which Laxman could only crib “Prabhu… even you didn’t hear to me.”

After that day Maan made sure he met Geet every now and then. These meetings did have a reason but majority of them didn’t have one. But one thing was common in these meetings and that was Maan’s question “Geet…when will you give me proper answer?”

And Geet would easily dodge that by saying “I would reply the day we have snowfall in Delhi.”

Surprisingly that was the only day when Maan could scare Geet as later it turned out to be the vice versa of it. She made sure to treat him as a friend, one day she might change her prospective but that was definitely not today was what she believed.

As the days rolled by Maan was getting used to her rule over him or to be loved being ruled by her. There was one such occasion that was on cards which could make help him mellow Geet. Though it was unknown as to how much he would succeed in that plan nevertheless he could always give it a try by arranging a party for her on her birthday. He always preferred privacy so he didn’t invite anyone but planned a surprise party at her home itself. It wasn’t that difficult to break in as he knew her arrival timings everyday. Everyday in and out time was known to him.

On that day Maan decorated the home and set the dinner table for two. He had been ignoring her calls from morning which he had never done earlier but then he was busy in surprise. It was 20 minutes past 10 in the night and Maan had been waiting from past 1 hour already. Geet usually made it by 8 but today she wasn’t here that did trouble him. Then he also knew she forgets to take a look at the watch when she was busy in her work. He further thought just like the day he met her in the mall.

Here in the mall Geet had wound up by 7 itself but she was not in the mood to go home. She didn’t wanted to be alone today so she visited every other street to keep herself busy. Whilst she cribbed “Babaji, out of all these days why Maan had to not pick her calls today itself?” She was already away from her parents and tomorrow on her birthday she would be alone too. Tired of walking she thought to finally crash the bed.

She methodically opened the door; however she didn’t want to have anything but to directly land in the bed so she didn’t bother to even switch on the lights or to change her dress. She was feeling extremely low because on her birthday there would be neither her family nor Maan. She chided herself saying “Why was she even expecting something from him? He didn’t know also.” Putting aside all the thoughts to rest she drifted into sleep on her bed next to Maan, who had also slept off while waiting for Geet.

It was somewhere in the middle of the night Geet turned and she felt a bit chill so she searched for some warmth and snuggled but in that process she felt a person next to her, she thought it is her Maa and murmur “Miss you a lot Maa…” But suddenly she realized it was not her maa as it was a hard and substantially heavy. “Did someone break into her home?” She wondered.

At the other side Maan’s sleep broke and he spoke “Oh fish….She is back…”

Next second she raised and pulled out a stick which was next to her for beating the day light out of the thief. She shouted at her high pitch “How dare you try to break into my home? Thief… What did you steal? Hand it over to me. What did you think lonely girl stays in this house and you can easily steal anything here? I would break your bones today.”

Geet went on scolding him while in between she didn’t forget to spill all the profanities she could think of in the middle of the banging marathon. While at the other end Maan was startled at the sudden hits he was getting that too for planning a surprise for her.

“Geet…Geet… Stop.” Maan tried to speak admist of the assault.

“Babaji, looks like he is a high tech thief” Geet thought and said aloud “You came in here after doing even back ground check. Today consider it as the last day when you would even think to slip into others home. Will you be quite if someone breaks into your home?”

Geet’s words made him think; he would have killed that person for intervening into his space & here what did he do? Maan would have gone into his deep thoughts but then “Ouch…” Geet’s regular hits made him realize he needs to stop her or else he would definitely land in hospital. What will the world say if they come to know that he was beaten up by his lady love?

The yelp made Geet to ask “Did it hurt?”

“Yes…” Maan said and got a reply “That’s what you deserve.” And Geet continued to ponder on him.

He caught hold of her hand tightly and pushed her on the bed. After a bit struggle he pressed himself more on her to keep her caged and she was below him; his one hand closed her mooth to stop her rattling while the other searched the bed lamp on her side table. Finally which felt like eternity Maan enlightened the room which put a full stop to all her struggle.

The moment Geet saw that it was Maan who was infront of her; there was a sudden delight that she hugged him with full force. All her gloominess of the evening had vanished just in a second.

One the other side Maan was surprised when she hugged him all of a sudden that too just after receiving the hammering. He could feel her shaken self and a bit sob did escape from her mouth. Against his hearts desire he parted a little and looked into her eyes to see what the matter was.

“Geet….what happened??? I am here, you don’t have to get scared of me” Maan said wiping off the lone tear which was about to trail down her cheeks.

“I wasn’t scared you thief but just glad that…” Geet stopped in mid as she completed the rest in her mind “you are there for my birthday and I don’t have to be alone.”

“I am not thief.” Maan argued.

“Oh really… then what are doing in my home at this time.” Geet asked sceptically. “Did your company get bankrupt that you started to the side business of stealing?”

“You are calling Maan Singh Khurana, a thief.” Maan looked at her with accusing eyes while continued to say “If I was really one then I would have first stolen the most precious thing here.”

Geet gave a confused look to which he replied “You”

“Yes… that’s why you have been ignoring my calls today.” She cribbed and turned to move back into the living room so that she can show him the way out.

Whilst Maan looked at the watch and thankfully it was just 30 mintues away for her birthday. Similing at his luck he started to sing

O meri soni meri tamanna

jhoot nahin hai mera pyaar

diwane se ho gai galati

jaane do yaar

I love you

I love you

Geet stood in her track just outside her room and she cribbed to her babaji loudly so that even he could hear her out “Babaji…you could find me only this old track record as my Romeo…” saying so she wanted to bang something on him when he changed his record to something different.

He moved closer to her as he made his intentions clear that’s when he heard her say “Angreez chalegaye …. Inhe chod gaye…”

“Happy now…” Maan asked while continued next set of lines

Geet gets embarrassed as she finally could accept it to her self that he is the only one for her too.

“Hey-Ya,-Hey-Ya” Maan called her out of her lost self.

She knew he did think of her everytime and was a bit crazy too. Offcourse no one could beat her.

Maan finally concluded as he brought her into his arms. “You Are The Only One For Me….”

Geet felt something soft being showered on her. She thought it to be rose petals but when she opened her eyes to confirm it but then it wasn’t. As creamy flakes kind of thing was getting showered from above.

“Maan… OMG… my home…owner uncle would blast me but how did this happen. Roof ceiling must have cracked and now the paint was falling apart. See I could feel the sticky material on my arm.” Geet exclaimed.

“Geet… this is snow flakes.” Maan said stopping her.

“Oh then definitely there is a crack in the roof… Babaji my whole month earnings would go for this repair now.” Geet made a face as she was about to rush.

“Geet… Where are you going?” Maan asked.

“To get a shawal… it is very chill already and if this goes on the whole night then I would freeze in this chillness.” Geet explained.

“Let me switch off the A/c then you wouldn’t” Maan replied as he became concerned.

“Airconditioner…” Geet wondered “Then that means these are not real snow.”

“Offcourse they were just a part of your condition.” Maan said similing “So from now on you are mine.”

“Thank God. My roof is safe.” Geet said.

“You have more concern for the roof and not mine.” Maan cribbed as if it was his turn now.

“Now it is too late. I need to clear this up and sleep. Will you leave now?” Geet asked wanting to escape from his securitizing eyes.

“Not before we celebrate our day. Let me get the cake.” Maan said as he walked into the kitchen to get it.

Before Geet could think of understand Maan was back with a cake which read Happy Birthday on it. She was overwhelmed that he did know that it was her day. Indeed he made it a very memorable day.

Maan gestured Geet to blow the lights of the candle and wish for something and she obligied with it “I love you Maan. I want to be always with you.”

That was the night of a new beginning.

But today Geet was all alone in an isolated place away from Maan. She searched for her friend for more than half day there. Now after roaming around she had also lost her way out to reach to Maan. Unfortunately even her mobile was in her bag which was with Maan. She tried to look for any familiar clue around which she would have witnessed while reaching this place but then there were none and chances to reach safely back to her husband was diminishing. She had just yesterday told Maan that she wouldn’t drift away from him; this time he would definitely not be nice.

She was tired of walking around the same place again and again. She was hungry too now, with the word food she was reminded of the breakfast which she shared with Maan in the morning but at this stage she even wondered whether she would ever get back to that place. Today was the worst day for her as she was unable to see her friend and also was unable to get back to the safe arms of her love.

After roving for few more miles she came across a beautiful lake but alas she neither was in the state to cherish that nature nor did she have any equipment to capture it to cherish later. But then she was too drained so thought to rest for a while in the shade near the lake.

She was lost looking at the lake when there was a meek sound of crushing of dry leaves was someone or something approaching towards her was the first thing which came to her mind. There could be any dangerous animal that will be ready to make her as his lunch. Geet thought almost at the verge of crying “Babaji, I was asking about obtaining some food not being someone else food. Maan will I ever be able to see you”

She looked for some stones to hit them so that she could scare it away and save herself. But her patience was running out with the slow and scary self. The faster she escapes from this trap the faster she would be able to breathe peacefully. She swore that she would lock in her home for some time away from all the troubles.

Suddenly the sound became heavy; indicating that the uninvited guest was very near to her. She was ready to throw the stone when someone came running into her scaring her even more. But her scream made the other person even scarier.

“Who are you?” Geet was the first to realise and question at the person who was infront of her in a tribal dress is what she believed.

“I am your future husband.” He said.

“What?” Geet exclaimed as she looked at the fat guy infront of her.

“Yes…kudiye…I will marry you.” He said.

Geet thought she could take his help and walk out of this place. So she wanted to handle this person nicely and not instigate him and make situation even worse.

“What’s your name?” Geet asked.

“My name….Mama… or even mame. That’s what my Lucky calls me.” He said and came near her and whispered so that no one else can know. “To tell you the secret I keep forgetting my name too.”

“oh…What else do you forget??” Geet asked.

“Who said I forget things… I always win in memory test.” He said already forgetting what he acknowledged earlier.

“I don’t agree with you.” Geet argued.

“Why so?” He asked.

“Then show me the road towards highway.” Geet challenged.

“Which way are you referring too?” He questioned

“That grey patch road where big big color color boats zooms away. Even people sit those boats.” Geet tried to describe in a different way to make him understand.

“Oh that way I know I know…” He agreed very easily but that made Geet wondered will he be able to show the right path or not.

Anyways she didn’t have any other option to flow him. She could always give it a try. They both walked together for a long time along with speaking all kind of senseless things to kill there time. Suddenly she came across a place which she identified that to be the place where she and Maan had spent last evening. That lead was enough that she could find a way out of this jizsaw puzzle. But this Mama or Mame was taking into the woods which could lead her into deeper forest. She silently thought to dodge him and reach a way out.

And fortunately she did finally manage to do that and came to the place where she had left Maan. She prayed that he waited for her there itself and not ventured to search her in this place which was though isolated was easy to get lost.

Maan sat relaxed as he saw her coming running towards the car into his arms saying sorry for making him wait here and also for putting him under stress.

Maan was elated as at the end his Sajaniya did come back without his intervention. His plan to keep her friend hidden with him was sucessful. Now she would never run behind that.

After a while when things settled she asked

“What were you doing here alone?”

“Nothing much just was looking for some girls who could suit me but none could match according to my requirement.” Maan said unknown to the meaning she understood. “Some did look good but they were all a façade. They would run away in just a day.”

“What you were sitting here and looking for girls to date.” Geet said with astonishment.

“Arey… I was looking for secretary in” Maan said before she went on to beat him again.

“Really…give me your laptop I will check…” Geet asked.

“Take it but now the battery has died you look at it after reaching home.” Maan said.

Geet looked bit satisfied and agreed to look into it later whilst Maan looked for his driver Laxman and told him to take them home.

“Ji Prabhu…” He replied obediently.

Laxman then looked at Geet as if to know who she was and asked Maan “Prabhu… who is she?”

“Geet… My wife.” Maan said.

“But she is not Seeta then how can she be your wife.” Laxman asked puzzled. This only resulted in glares from Maan to Laxman and Geet glaring at Maan. This was the first time Ram (Maan) would get slay because of Laxman that to in the hands of Seeta (Geet).

Now who was to save him from his own Sajaniya…

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 19

Part 19

All staff members who went together at the beginning as a team but when they were back many had displeasure written on their face. On top were Sasha, Arjun & Adi as with so many people with them controlling become hard and they couldn’t actually spend quality time with their family members.

After a lot of thought Sasha came up with an idea “Why don’t we just let the families enjoy on there on and even we can concentrate on our own family. Less the number the trip would be more joyous.”

“But many don’t know what is there to visit and how to go to each place.” Adi commented.

“We can do one thing, lets share our plan with everyone they can choose to cover them on their own in any order they may want to. With that we don’t have to wonder where they are and when all will assemble. Only thing is at the end they have to reach here and after 2 days we will leave which we can’t delay at any cost.” Arjun concluded.

“We can always have KC time in bus.” Sasha added.

So decided by the managers and also agreed by the remaining staff as it would help them itself. They can be free from some restrictions of managers along with that they can agree to family wishes and still abide by the managers words.

On the way back itself everything was set and also discussed what would be next days plan. As it was too late Maaneet had moved to their room and hence none noticed which room they were in.

Maaneet had reached early from the outing as they started late they didn’t venture into far away places. Needless to say Maaneet had their quality time and unknown to everyone the staff were giving more opportunity to be together away from anyone known eyes for coming days too. Today away from all the stress and loads of work Maaneet had a jovial time outside and inside in their room too. Many unsaid words and actions before were said and shared; there were neither any call which Maan had to attend urgently nor Geet had any household matters or deadlines to meet.

Morning couldn’t have been any more blissful than it was. Maan and Geet had snuggled into the other beloved. After having a contended sleep they freshened up and ready for the days trip. Geet was the first to move out and check, she found the manager trio chatting when she came to the reception and wished morning to them.

“Maam… Can we go to the near by xyz water falls, that is magnificent at this time of the year.” Geet asked.

“That’s a good idea Geet.” Maan said as he joined them in the conversation.

Maaneet missed to notice the looks which were exchanged by the trio. They also had planned for the same but when boss himself was accompanying then all their fun was at stake. And none were ready to let go of the chance to be free from order from boss. That was a different matter when the same were felt by their juniors.

Arjun was the first to react and say “We had been there yesterday and we are planning to cover the other side of the area today.” Sasha left a sigh while Adi chuckled in his style.

“Oh…” Geet made a gloomy face at missing out opportunity.

“No problem, we will go on our own then.” Maan declared his decision.

In a second Geet’s face was just the opposite ie cheerful and she said “Then I will get the bag backed.”

She stood up to go when Maan interfered. “Geet…”

“Hmm” Geet responded as he stopped to hear him out.

“Pack some food too.”  Maan said and just went out to meet Shekar who just entered the reception area.

“You changed the plan very smartly.” Adi said.

“We wouldn’t have been so comfortable in his company.” Arjun replied.

“Come let’s tell the revised schedule to others too. I am sure those who had planned for the waterfalls would change their course too.” Sasha said smiling.

Maan did understand that his trio managers didn’t want boss to interfere in their fun when next day same thing was recreated. He was actually pleased as managers planned effectively as to avoid the site where boss was to go and his plan used to be on Geet’s wishes. He took her to the place she wanted to visit; it was actually Geet who would show the places once they reach any spot. She had visited these places before her marriage and she was being the guide for Maan. Those were the initial marriage days of her sister; she even disclosed the hide outs her jiju would take her sister for some pleasant talks whilst Geet would have been busy looking at the surroundings. She usually used to get hold when they left her alone for a long time and tease them till no end.

Now it was her time to experience that phase of the life. And she was glad that Maan didn’t mind fulfilling these small wishes; which though were small but left a lasting effect on their relation. Love and understanding are the base which they were strengthening on.

Two days rolled just in a blink of an eye. The trip ended on a happy note. And things became monotonous as the days passed by. With the heavy work load Maan started to assign Geet big projects and left her to take decisions on it. After the initial snags things become easier for Geet and any issues which she came up were only directed to Maan. Not only juniors many a times even the Arjun & Sasha would come up with loads of work issues for Geet to solve it.

Everything was running well until one fine day Geet opened her mail box in the morning to get a surprise of her life. It was her promotion e-mail elevating her to the post of Managing Director of Keerthi Designs. Attached also was the performance appraisal by all the seniors. The proposal first started with Sasha being transferred to Rajnish Creations to support Arjun on the new big venture which they acquire and then Arjun suggesting Geet’s name as the new face of Keerthi Design later Sasha seconding it.

Geet knew why Maan attached the whole appraisal mail trail; it was to make her believe that she deserved the position and the decision was not influenced by her being Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana. Recognition which she always wanted. Today not only she proved herself worth but also could fulfil Maan’s dreams to see her along with him as a MD. But then unfortunately things were not easy as it seems as today she had to choose in between the two happiness of her husband. Yes, she had to make a choice whether to accept this happiness or the other one which was also way to important for both of them.

However the decision wasn’t that difficult either as she chooses to give the other happiness over and above this one. And she replied through mail displaying her gratitude and also regret in not accepting the post along with it went the resignation letter of her. Reason which she didn’t want to disclose and just kept it as personal.

Maan waited anxiously to for his wife’s response but was shocked beyond doubt on reading the content of it. The next second whole staff got scared as their boss was roaring at Geet. Nevertheless Geet was anticipating the same; even the managers were shocked at Geet’s reply. The news was already spread that Geet rejected the offer of being MD of KD but on what grounds she choose to leave this big opportunity was still under covers.

Once Geet entered the cabin whilst Maan pounce on her “Why Geet you don’t trust on me or my decision?” he asked pushing her to the wall.

“Ouch… don’t push me and also keep distance atleast there must be a gap of my finger’s length.” Geet said poking him with her finger on his chest.

Maan looked confused at her statement and looking at her silent husband Geet thought to continue “I thought to accept your proposal but then I had more alluring one in my hand and also this much pressure is not good. So I choose to reject it.”

Now Maan wanted to pull his hairs out at the puzzle she was waving around. “First you don’t accept what is told to you and now you are arguing back at me.”

“Okay… let me put it in more clear words… In one hand I had the promotion letter which is your dream and in other hand also I had your other dream. Now the question was which one should I give more importance? I could take up both for few days but later on it is highly impossible to manage both. And in that tenure where I will have to choose the company or my… I mean our bundle of joy is what I want to avoid now itself. Obviously we both want to be with the baby. But in that time I don’t want your first baby to suffer.” Geet said elaborately.

Baby, the word was enough to making him bring the sky down to earth. They were on the path of next level happiness. He could only take her in his arms silently expressing his joy to her. The two most precious gems of his life were cocooned in his arms.

Geet had tears of joy in her eyes they would have been in there world itself had it not been the ring on his mobile.

Geet took leave and came out of his closed cabin wiping of the left over tears of her cheeks which were the only thing others noticed.

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 18

Part 18

Geet was in still blabbering something to her sister when her cell rang. She would have ignored it but then thought against it and attended it thinking Maan might need something. Before she could say hello she heard his meek voice “Geet… do you have any tablet for fever?”

“What happened? You are not feeling well?” Geet asked anxiously.

“Geet… I am fine, we were there in the water park in the evening time so may be a bit tired and body ache. I don’t want that to turn into a fever. So if you have a tablet then let me know where it is. I would take it; you need not worry about it.” Maan played with his words as he exactly knew his wife’s reaction. She wouldn’t wait for a minute and would be at his door step. And in next second there was a knock on the door.

“Now who is knocking at the door. Can’t a sick man rest peacefully?” Maan added though he knew who it was.

“I am knocking. Why have you locked it? How was I supposed to come in? What’s taking so long to open one door?” She cribbed as she was unaware of the deliberate delay.

“Geet… it is you… wait for a minute I will open?” Maan made sure she waited anxiously.

As the door opened Geet barged in to check on her hubby dear who stood taking the support of the door and lazily made his way towards the bed after making sure he bolted the door to avoid any disturbance.

“Geet what are you searching in the bags… come here” Maan called her to bed. “Even you played in water park, you must also rest or else you will be in the same state as I am. Come here let me check you…”

“I am not feeling any tiredness. Let me give you medicine, I have it in my kit.” Geet said while Maan thought wickedly “Good that she isn’t tired.”

“Here have this medicine, you will get deep sleep and then all your pain will vanish.” Geet said still not getting his play. But when she touched his hands to handover a glass of water, she jolted with the chillness as Maan had washed his hands in cold water. “You are already cold let me get you another comforter.” Geet said and tried to rush to get it but Maan pulled her before that.

“I want my special comforter…” He demanded that’s when Geet looked into his eyes and understood his plan. But still she felt what if it was just her overworking minds imagination. While she contemplated about what to say or do he switched the places and he was now over her.

Geet was now sure her prem was all fine and it was a plan to call her. He started his assault and now her mind was not in a position to think anything else but to feel the emotions which he awoke. They were both drifting to such a state where mind had no work but to rest. Both had missed each other for a quite a few days and today it was time for unleashing the captive beast in them.  The world got restricted to the one other.

Outside Rajani unknown to the things happening between her sister and brother in law was getting worried for Maan and his health and was also ready to barge in to help her little sister. This worry was actually trouble her husband.

“Rajani… Where are you going?” Shekar, her husband asked.

“I will go and give these medicines to Maan. Or else you go and give by that time I will get some soup for him.” Rajani said.

“But…” He was ready to explain it to her over caring wife about Geet not being a little girl anymore. But Rajani had flown from there in next second.

He was about to knock on the door but something in him said against it. The feeble sounds were heard making him realise that he was right and should not interfere. So he quickly made way towards kitchen where he had to make her understand.

“Rajani… there is no need of all these. They have slept off so let not disturb them. They need rest. Geet is big enough to handle these situation and they don’t require our interference.” He said.

Though bit dissatisfied Rajani didn’t oppose him and kept quite to check on them first early in the morning.

At the first sound of the birds chirping Rajani used to be awake everyday but the restlessness for her little baby sister made her sleep only the wee hours of morning. So as a caring husband it was Shekar who was taking care of all the responsibilities of the guests.

Arjun was the incharge for today’s sight seeing plan. So he was making sure that everyone would be ready. He knew his boss wouldn’t join today because Maan had to be with his relatives. But when Geet wasn’t there he thought to enquiry her BIL or sister. But when he was unable to find anyone he tried Geet’s cell but it was unanswered as Geet had left that where she and Rajani were chatting last night. Shekar was the one who noticed Geet’s mobile and kept it safely.

Tired of trying Arjun was ready to leave her and move out for the day as he recalled Shekar’s statement when both sisters had met. “These two sisters would forget the time and keep on chatting. Today night these two would be busy in their own world of gossips.”

To confirm his doubt he saw Shekar & Rajani speaking to one another.

“Rajani… You woke up?”Shekar

“Yes…” Rajani said “Did Geet wake up? Or she was still sleeping.”

“She must be still in her bed.” Shekar said.

Hearing to those words, Arjun and other staff made their way out leaving Maan and Geet for different reasons.

Maaneet came out late in the morning to have their breakfast or say brunch as they had slept late after long night. On enquiry of illness both just said that he was fine but there eyes did had the spark of last night. To avoid being more interrogated, Maan asked for some nearby place to visit.

So all the four planned to visit some nearby place, after leaving the place they thought to go to an ancient temple which was nearby. There was a custom which was followed in that temple wherein women were supposed to cover their head with their paloo while men attire should be dhoti & shawl but when they are in shirt and pant they could enter if they removed their upper garments. (Note: there are temples which follow these customs in south India so don’t be surprised)

None had any problem until Geet realised some young college girls who were there for darshan. They were giggling at themselves; she ignored that initially as girls would usually do that but then when they were often looking at her husband. Her anger was at its peak, being in temple she was supposed to be having peace of mind but here there was unrest in her.

She thought of all the different ways to keep her husband safe from these evil eyes. Finally she thought to stand in between her husband and those girls but who was she kidding. They also shifted place to have an uninterrupted view. Her husband was irresistible with those any attire on and now he would be the end of it.

Geet was supposed to go round the temple but instead she was going round her husband. Which was being noticed by many now? And they were giving weird looks at her.

Rajani who looked at Geet warned her “Geet, look in the front it is not the time to play stand still Aarthi is going to start now.”

Geet made a face but then she followed as told anyways she was glad as Maan made way so that she could stand in front of him and see the Aarthi. Not to forget the glares which she gave to those girls.

All came out and then Rajani started to shout at Geet for what she was doing inside the temple. Unable to accept the reason behind it Geet silently kept listening to her. Where as her BIL Shekar who came behind with Maan after collecting the prasadam couldn’t control more at his SIL state but laugh out. While Rajani looked a bit surprised at her husband but then Maan kinda of guessed that it was something related to the thing which Geet was doing.

“Jiju… you are not telling anything.” Geet warned but he was not ready to leave a very good chance to corner Geet thought which she gave it on her own.

“You never leave a chance to corner anyone then how can I leave this golden chance?” He said while explaining the reason behind Geet’s behaviour.

Geet got embarrassed but then she couldn’t hide what she felt or did at that time was something not in her control. After a bit time everything stabilised and everyone were back in the jolly mood with pulling each others leg for the rest of the day.

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 17

Part 17

Minal though pulled Geet next to her & it was more than an hour now still she was unable to form proper words to question her; what was that which was happening back in the park. Slowly Geet came to the topic of park, the rides she took. How much she enjoyed and how much she got scared at those certain turns and drops. Taking the cue Minal final asked “Geet, you were fine after that xyz ride. I was really at the verge of fainting.”

“I thought it was only me who felt like that and at that time Boss came in handy.” Geet said feeling a bit revealed.

“Geet… I actually heard Boss say about you ditching prem.” Minal said mildly still hesitant of the response she would receive.

On reminded of that situation Geet’s anger just rose to an upper notch and she warned “I don’t want to remember that. How dare he say some thing like that? What does he think of himself? He will order me something and I would just meekly follow him. I will do what I want. I am the Boss not him, atleast here. I can adjust with many things but not ditching and all. Doesn’t he know what prem is for me that he is just mentioning it and hurting me? How could he try to take advantage of the situation? I don’t want to see even him now.”

On hearing to Geet’s words Minal came to the conclusion that it is Boss who is atleast tad bit interested in Geet but why would he was also a question which was lurking in her mind? As per her understanding Boss’s wife is expecting and on that day when she had heard his talks with his wife. Boss was quite worried and also caring too towards his wife. Then why would he try to mess with any other women. That too Geet, who could spend all her day with only one word prem & only prem. Only option left is to keep him at bay just as Geet is doing now. But how can I not keep a watch on our Boss.

Wait a second what did I just do now. My two niece are sitting beside him. What if he try trouble them too. Poor girls can’t understand the dark side of this world. On getting that doubt she now wanted both her niece next to her. All her precaution towards Geet just flew out of the window and now it was only Anjali and Anitha whom she cared for. She wanted to push Geet back to her seat. Anyways she is a grownup girl and can manage boss. She has already shown that attitude towards boss and will continue too going forward if he tries to mess with her.

“Geet… you get back to your seat. Anjali & Anitha would want to sleep next to me as both would get scared.” She blabbered whatever reason she could frame in her mind. But to her disappointment Geet had slept off and that was when she noticed the time which showed she had been thinking about from past an hour or two.

Minal made way towards her niece to look for them. Nevertheless she was astonished at the sight; that was her Boss reciting a tale to them. Both her niece loved hearing to them before they went to bed.  This was a new facet of her boss. He can’t be that bad thought Minal and to form a bad opinion. May be there was more what Boss had to say which I didn’t understand. To think about Geet’s prem, Minal had always felt he is too good to be true as Geet say. He hears her every word without any complaints so understanding…No it can’t be real. Geet would be making it up.

Minal was still in her thoughts when the bus stopped abruptly declaring their arrival of the lodge. Slowly many got up and they woke the remaining people. Maan descended down first to check at the reception their reservation; after all it was he who had booked the place for everyone. But not before checking at Geet’s direction. Minal was trying to wake her up. As he spoke to the receptionist and disbursing his employees to their rooms he waited for Geet but even as many got settled she was nowhere to descend from the bus. He thought to check on Geet and his legs moved faster as he wanted to known the reward he would get once Geet came to know his surprise. He entered only to witness Minal trying to wake her both niece at one end and at the other end she was trying to wake Geet up. And both were giving competition to one another in troubling Minal.

He moved towards Geet and spoke in his firm voice “Get up Geet or else…” he left the words in middle intentionally. She knew that tone of his that had more hidden meaning and that’s why Geet made a pouting face but opened her eyes to find her prems naughty smile. But Geet saw Minal behind Maan, who was looking at them curiously. So she quietly followed Maan making a face anyways she couldn’t form anywords with her sleepy head to answer him back.

Now that Geet was up, Maan moved towards girls and took Anitha in his arms and asked Minal to take Anjali in hers while Geet followed them with their handy bags. Maan and Minal were in front but Geet was left behind as she dragged her legs along side the bag. She didn’t even know where she was heading to. How many times she was on the verge of falling but some how she managed it.

She was very sleepy and the husband of hers was hell-bent on not listening to her. The only bright side she could see was the comfy bed she could dig into in few seconds. But when did luck favour her when it came to her sleep. In these thoughts she didn’t know when she crashed into something hard as usually she waited for the pair of arms which would engulf her and all her troubles would cease to exist from that instance. But then she was blest with a weird mocking laugh.

“You proved me right Geet. The marriage didn’t change a thing. You are the same as you were.” Geet heard him comment while her heart leapt in surprising agility.

Geet stared at the person infront of her with wide eyes and wondered whether she landed at the right place or was she still dreaming in her sleep. But a slight pinch on her hand was enough to make her sleep to vanish in thin air. She jumped in her happiness and ran to hug her even squash the lady who just stood next to the person who laughed.

Arjun just came back after settling his family to check on Geet. Did she get settled with Minal or was just left wondering out was surprised and relieved to see that Geet was in safe hands. Now he need not interfere as she is in the best hands of her sister Rajani. He left back thinking he can have his family time without any worry now. As Geet’s untimely entry had kept him occupied.

Maan had not thought that his night’s plan can get affected with this surprise. He had left Minal’s room after settling the twins there. Once he was back at the reception; the over enthusiastic wife of his sat along with her sister & brother-in-law. Geet’s BIL did involve in ladies talks but his disappointment was also shown on his face which the ladies royally ignored. The reason was unknown to Maan, as it was the first time these sisters are meeting after his marriage. But time thoughts everything so was this as he understood that once these sisters get together they wouldn’t remember anything. Not even their husband.

Looking at the plight of Maan, Geet’s BIL took pity and said “Maan… These ladies won’t break for the night. Let’s give them the privacy to crib about us while we can sleep peacefully today.”

Maan didn’t know what to reply and only smiled but he knew he wouldn’t get any peace once he is alone. Nevertheless he got up and wished good night to the ladies in a gentleman way or say he let them believe it so. His clever mind had already made a backup plan to capture his wife for the night.

Pati Patni Aur Boss – Part 16

Part 16

“How come Geet become normal suddenly?” Arjun asked Sasha getting confused about Geet’s behaviour.

“All credits goes to me, I advised her and see the result.” Sasha said blowing air at her left fingers as if drying her nail polish and raising her invisible collar.

“What did you suggest her?” Arjun asked.

“Well, to solve a fight one has to bow down and i just asked her to do so there by ending the fight. Guess she took my advice to put an end to her fight with her Prem.” Sasha said.

“Okay, then let’s get back to the game. Who has to take the next cue?” Arjun questioned and didn’t bother argue with Sasha as she was supporting the husband.

Here Geet tried to remember the way and was quite surprised herself that she still remembered it. She was briskly walking ahead as she didn’t want to mislead and get them self lost in this isolated place. A bright sun was dancing on them but that didn’t dampen her spirits. After walking a stretch she turned back feeling really happy as they would reach the park very soon that too before their friends while Maan who had a bag pack on his back was walking leisurely as his legs had still cramps but his eyes were on Geet to make sure she didn’t run away in her childish excitement.

Here she was so excited & look at her husband away from all the fun. He was dragging himself into this place. If he didn’t want to enjoy then why to get her here she thought but she was not going to let him go so easily. She ran back to him in a second but didn’t say a thing but silently followed a step behind him and Maan guessed she is definitely upto something.

When Maan reached the spot till Geet had gone before running back to him, he stopped waiting for her to take the lead again but Geet was lost in something else so she collided with Maan.

“Geet, where are you looking and walking??” Maan asked in his stern voice.

“I was searching for a white hair on your head. Don’t disturb me.” Geet said seriously looking in his hairs.

“Geet… show me the way.” Maan said as he stood in front of the big tree and two pathways on either side was there.

“How boring you are… that’s why I was searching some white hairs. Uff babaji what did I do for this. Main kya karoon raam mujhe buddha mil gaya haay haay buddha mil gaya” Geet cribbed looking up shocking Maan even more but soon recovered and thought “How the hell did he get this lady as his? Looks like he has to show this buddhi what her buddha can do”

Rather than getting angry Maan came behind her and questioned “So you think I am your Buddha??”

“Yes” she said and turned around slightly disappointed for not getting required reaction of his but to her surprise next second she was swept away in his arms. “You know, this is an isolated place.” Geet said.

“So what are you suggesting… you want me to complete what we were doing in bus?” Maan questioned innocently.

She made a face does she has to remind him and pulled him closer to finish off what they had started. He had pushed her against the tree as he took her lips into his. While his hands which were keeping her steady at her waist started to move upwards as her hands had already roamed in his hairs to pull him more into her if any left earlier though. A little space was given only when Maan felt they were out of breath but then his attention was now had been taken by the milky cream skin of hers over the jaw line. They would have gone ahead if not the zooming trucks horn brought them back and Maan stepped a bit away to control his urges to stop. They weren’t that far from the highway nor was this a place to do things which they were heading towards.

“You always have to leave things half way??” She complained pouting but clearly knew they had to stop but it was easy to blame it on him.

“Why do you provoke me at the wrong time? We can’t do it here but tonight I promise you I wouldn’t leave you for a second.” Maan said as he corrected his hairs which were ruffled by her while she calmed her erotic heart.

“Tonight is ours, until then let’s concentrate on reaching the park first.” Maan said taking the bag pack which was waiting for their attention.

With no other interruption Maan & Geet reached the park. And first thing which Geet did was to call up Arjun and tease his decision to not follow her.

“Hello Arjun Sir” Geet said “Where are you? Did you cross the toll gate or not?

By now Arjun had realised his mistake and said “No Geet we are still struck in the traffic. Did you reach the park?”

“Oh Yes we are. Boss is already at the tickets counter. He asked me to check with you how many we need to buy.” Geet said trying to hide her giggle which is all set escape from her mouth.

Arjun counted and gave the number of tickets which had to be purchased which Geet conveyed it to Maan.

“How much more time would take for the bus to reach Sir?” Geet asked as she was eager to enter the park and play.

“I just enquired it with the driver, he said approximately in an hour we will be in front of our destination.” Arjun said and realised Geet had already lost her patience to wait that too when she was infront of the park moreover she was already not in her best moods but this win over some trivial issue has made her happy as she is in her crispy self so he suggested “Geet, why don’t you guys start with the rides. Once we are there we will call you then you can come to the entrance gate to hand us over the tickets.”

“Thank you Sir. Call Boss once you are here rather than me I would forget mobile once I am in the park. Boss has already got the tickets.” Geet cut the call even before Arjun could reply.

Geet led Maan towards the entrance while she told about their current plan. Maan could only smile at her childish excitement.

More than an hour passed Maaneet were enjoying the rides after ride while the bus just stopped infront of the park and Maan came out to hand over the tickets as Geet was busy in the ride and was not in the mood to come out that early.

As Maan handed over the tickets all the office staff along with family spread over the park as per rides they wished to ride first. None wanted to question where Geet was as they thought how to ask Boss about it. Minal who wanted to accompany Geet as her nieces were already in their world she was alone just like Geet was. So she set out to search Geet in the park. No use of calling on her mobile. And when she finally found Geet, the ground underneath her foot slipped.

Maan’s hand was on Geet’s waist as she leaned on his shoulder to walk straight. He handed a bottle of water to her as he said “Maan is the one next to you so better get yourself accustomed to it and ditch that prem, it doesn’t suit.”

Some moments earlier Maan & Geet were in a roller coster ride and the speed & height made Geet little uncomfortable but as Maan was beside her and he insisted to go for the ride she agreed but as the turns & drops got faster & scary she couldn’t her scream and out of habit she called out prem aloud and grabbed his arm for support. At the end when they came out she was still bit dizzy. Maan held her and took to the near by seat and to divert her mind he spoke  “Maan is the one next to you so better get yourself accustomed to it and ditch that prem, it doesn’t suit.”

Needless to say Minal was lost in her new-found secret that she couldn’t even enjoy the holiday. But she wasn’t the one who was going to give soon. If Geet is in trouble be it boss she will pitch in and help her out of it. By the time everyone finished the rides it was already night and so they finished their dinner and got themself ready to travel again. As everyone guided themselves to their respective seats all tired Minal pushed her two niece into front seat next to her Boss and pulled Geet next to her.

Geet couldn’t say no to her friend and Maan knew their next destination isn’t far so he let her enjoy with her friends. And he was getting the company of two girls which was enough to bring the smile on his lips.

Avow to abide by you

Avow to Abide by You

It was pitch black in the garden and how was I to find her, for a second I thought it would be better if this darkness would be there when I face her. I wouldn’t fumble with my words atleast or get lost in her eyes. But then I had to see her only then could I take a breath of relief. It had been quite a while that I have wanted to express what I feel for her but every time I had been infront of her words had always failed to form in my mind, let alone speak to her. I had to find her and that too very soon or else I would go mad. After spending 7 days away from her where I couldn’t even get a chance to see her. That’s when I decided it was time I had to convey it to her. As if someone hearing to my wish path lights on the either side of the stomp stones switched on illuminating the whole path which was ready for me to walk on it.

I could sense her around me but where was she? I look around the garden only to find that other parts of the garden was still in darkness. Only this path had lights on which was like laid out for me to reach her and without a second delay I start to walk on that to find my price at the end of it where she choose to wait for me below the arch in aqua blue and white lehnga making her look as elegant as she is. I was glad that she had her back towards me or else she would have known how nervous, excited and also anxious too to know her answer. Each step which I take to close the distance seems to raise my heart beats in double rate.

But suddenly my mind questions me “What will I say to her when I stand before her?” I stop few steps behind as I realise that it had totally slipped my mind. “I should atleast get some gift to her. What will I find now that too here? Oh yes flowers, bright yellow and white lilies would be best. I have to find them and give her atleast flowers to her.”

I turn around to look for some in the garden and fortunately just like it is said in the novel written by Paulo Coelho (‘The Alchemist’) Original: When you really desire something with your heart & soul, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it! I find the best one all set that too in my hand. How & when did I get them? I wonder but then this isn’t the time to think all those but to tell her what I have been feeling for her.

One step and I would have her in my arms but unless I confine the deep desires of my heart to her and until she accepts them I have no right to have the heavens in my arms. I turn back at the last step fearing her rejection. My heart can already feel the burden of that thought. Yet again to my surprise I feel the bliss when I hear her giggle. She might have seen me struggling and even she couldn’t help but giggle at my plight. I without any delay turn back to face her but she isn’t there. Where has she gone? “Now is not the time to hide.” I say to myself somewhere fearing if I delayed I may lose her.

I want to find her but there is only silence everywhere. Where did she go I wonder? That’s when I feel a tap on the shoulder. There she stood crossing her hands over her chest while raising her brow towards me as if asking why I was behind her.

“I love you…” I say without a thought. Only one thing could be heard and that wasn’t a pleasant laugh but was that of a slap. All that could be heard was “Wake up Maan. It’s time to move on.” I still stare at her unable to believe the words which I heard. These can never be her words, her eyes still emote, the love for me then why was I hearing again and again “Wake up Maan. It’s time to move on.” “Wake up Maan. It’s time to move on.”

Finally opening my eyes as slowly realisation draws upon me as the words start to get register in my mind what I have been going through. It was yet again one of those nightmares which I wanted to get rid of from couple of days. How could I forget such a serious thing? Every day after switching off the mobile I get lost in wondering where she has gone and when she would return in turn I forget to change the ringtone of my alarm from “Wake up Maan. It’s time to move on” to something else. And every day I have to get up from the same dream. No no the biggest nightmare of my life.

After cursing myself with the morning quota, I rush towards the window to check whether she could grace me with her presence today but to my utter dismay of mine she is still not back. Thousands of questions formed in my mind “Has she left this PG?” Or “Has she gone for any vacation” Be it anything I had to see her. I run my fingers through my hairs feeling frustrated of the situation I am struck at. Suddenly the doors of the balcony opened and I wait with abated breath to catch a glimpse of her. But then today is not my day as it was her friend and not her who came out.

In the opposite building stayed a bunch of girls with Supriya aunty who runs a PG whose balcony opened towards my window. Never did I know who stayed there who left there but the day I saw her 6 months back in one of the bright mornings in this same balcony everything changed. That day I had a pending presentation to be prepared so I was busy in it and that’s when I had seen her coming out of glass doors of the balcony out of the veil of hairs in front of her face blocking it for me to see clearly but how long could she hide from me. Next moment she pushed back all of those tendrils back and was rubbing off the water after her shower.

And from that day I had watched her secretly every morning the same way from this window even my gym has shifted to my room as I didn’t wanted to miss this time with her. As her college started at 9 her stay in balcony was fixed as she would be busy drying her hair or with her tab in one hand and some books which were always kept in side table for her instant reference. Was that a novel or text-book that she referred so many times is all I could wonder. As her expressions changed with every line she read like she emote what she read in the book.

I was still be lost in her thoughts had my cell not started to yell to get my attention. The name made me shudder a bit and after another second I finally managed to take that call.

“Good morning Boss.” He said.

“Did you finish the work assigned to you.” His boss questioned “We need to meet the deadlines. I don’t need any excuses like last time.”

“Yes boss. It would be on your table by the time you reach the office.” Maan said but he clearly knew it wasn’t ready to be presented and as the appointment was given to him in afternoon. He was pretty sure the work would be completed in time. But whom was he kidding to his boss. He could never ever outsmart his Dad that too when he in his boss appearance. Every time his Dad called in morning it had to be because of work. He always gave a head start when a trouble was awaited for his son.

“That’s great, as the project is ready why don’t you accompany me to the meet in morning in that way you would get more exposure towards the young aspirants thoughts.” His boss continued to boost him but right now he was thinking ways to finish the work and also attend with boss the meet.

After about 10 minutes of his call Maan was ready at the table having breakfast that too in a hurry as Maan had to be with boss in the car in next 15 minutes.

“Bro, Have your breakfast slowly. Your boss wouldn’t eat you up if you are late.” Anjali said as she saw her brother Maan eating hurriedly. “Or is it your girlfriend coming to meet that you are in such a rush.”

Maan thought it was better to eat at that time than give her suitable reply but his eyes were showing his anger and also helplessness. Anjali was the only one who knew Maan’s interest in a girl whose name is Geet but apart from that she didn’t know a thing more. But even with this small information she never left a chance to tease her Maan Bro.

“Anjali, have your food and leave to your college. Today you are not getting late for it” Rajneesh Khurana (Maan’s dad) said dismissing the useless battering going on.

Making a sad face Anjali left for her college. Well this was the usual scene at the breakfast table. Maan always would be in urgency, Anjali pulling his leg for one or the other thing as she always linked everything with Geet while Rajneesh always restricting both of them with discipline.

In about an hour time Maan Singh Khurana along with his Boss Rajneesh Khurana came out from either side of the car in classiness that the whole world stopped to catch a glimpse of the father-son duo. Maan had his traits inherited from his father so it looked as if a person’s past & present walked hand in hand. Soon the crowd welcomed the chief guest the elder Khurana into the conference hall and Maan slipped out of the hall silently without getting noticed by anyone as he had his work to be completed before his dad turns into the boss mood. Well he always failed to speak in front of 2 people one was his Geet and the other one was his Dad.

Now Maan was in search of a quite place and also lonely place so that no one would find him any sooner. But to find that was not an easy task either as people were busy and walking up and down the corridors. Luckily he found another auditorium but then people had taken all the seats and he took one of the back seats and all of a sudden the lights were turn off but then he also wanted the same. As in that darkness he could finish his work in the laptop. Maan was about to open the system when a voice caught his attention and he sat listening to it “Zindagi ke har subah tum se shuru hogi aur har raat tum se khatam…” but then where was that sound coming from; every where it was darkness which surrounded him. In his life it was only her & he cannot be wrong in recognising her voice tell him this.

Slowly the spot light focused on the stage illuminated making him look for the person whose voice held his attention. But none of the person on stage were speaking it was only being recited by her.

As some person occupy the stage and start enacting the same as narrated by her:

This is a tale of a girl Geet who came to the new town in order to complete her study but was unaware of what had fate planned for her. It was one the same day she stepped into this town she had to found him and lost her heart to him. It was a summer morning when she arrived and the heat had already made her life hell. And in addition to that she was away from her family which added to her frustration. She got down her luggage from her taxi at the entrance and thought to walk through the driveway till her PG apartment. As she was walking taking in the surroundings she saw how well the residency was kept clean and clear of pollution. Many people were walking in the park. Many of them did stare at her as she was new to the place but that was normal she thought and walked ahead until she heard

“Fweeeehu fweeeehhu” whistle sound and followed by sweet endearment

“Hello beautiful” which halted her steps but he didn’t stop addressing her with sweet nothing

“My Pinky, my cutie pie” That words made her cross check herself from top to bottom as she was in her pinky salwar suit. Her temper raised and her nose flared in anger.

“Look at me baby. Where are you looking at? When I am speaking to you why are you looking the other way.” He continued to pester her “Fweeeehu fweeeehhu” It was the limit thought Geet. It hasn’t been an hour in this town and she is facing this. Her face turned red with rage.

She decided in the same moment she will put all of them on track be it her town or this new town of hers never will she think twice before mending people. She looked around to find something suitable weapon and luckily she got the sweeper with the broom stick that was there to clean the drive way from the dry leaves. In an instant she had that stick in her hand and without giving any second for her opponent to react she attacked in full swing.

“You fool, dumb headed dolt, bonehead, fathead, numbskull, dunderhead, chucklehead, knucklehead, muttonhead, pudding-head, thickhead, wooden-head, airhead, pinhead, lamebrain, pea-brain, birdbrain, zombie, jerk, nerd, dipstick, donkey, nutcase …” And she went on cursing the person who was in front of her nonstop for another 5 minutes. Luckily for the man in front of her; he only had to bear what she said as she wasn’t very good in multi tasking and as her mouth was at work her hand was only there ready to work once her mouth took rest. “What do you think a new girl is in town, she is defenceless, you can treat her like any doll.” Geet went on with her remark until she realised the person in front of her hasn’t spoken a word yet. And also a sudden meek sound of claps and a squeal of laughter broke her trail of words.

That’s when she saw a small baby in a walker next to baby was a young man in late twenties with his eyes & mouth wide open and a shocked expression plastered on his face. Not to forget his eyes was fixed on her hand thinking how to escape from the harassment. Before anyone of them could speak or react an elderly lady came walking out of the lift.

“Thanks Armaan beta, I finally got the doll which my granddaughter had dropped it in the lift. Did my gudia trouble you?” The elder lady questioned.

“No no Aunty, she didn’t trouble me but she isn’t even responding to me either. Why is she so silent?” Armaan asked.

“Oh.. she just got up from sleep that’s why she isn’t responding to any of your gestures.” She told. “I will take your leave need to finish my walking tour in garden with her.”

Armaan thanked the stars above as today that Aunty saved her from a broom seva and turned to look at the pretty girl in pinky who was ready to consume him with her words. But the tables had turned upside down and Geet had dropped her weapon and was searching words to apologies the man in front of her who stood in full attitude hands crossed over his chest, eyebrows raised as if expecting a well deserved apology.

“I am sorry. Really very very very sorry for the confusion.” Geet said but he stood giving a not enough kind a look. “I am really regretful, remorseful, contrite, repentant, rueful, penitent, conscience-stricken, apologetic, dejected, despairing, disconsolate, broken-hearted, heartbroken, guilt-ridden, self-reproachful, ashamed, shamefaced, sheepishly pleading sorry for my act…..” And she went on until she heard the eruption of laughter from Armaan.

After having completed his fits of laughter and when he finally managed to breathe normally he said “Hi…I am Armaan…” for which she responded with a pleasant smile “Hello…My name is Geet.” This was their first meet and first step towards the start of a new relation.

Maan’s version: No Geet that wasn’t our first meet but second. That day you had come out to leave for your college when we had met in the drive way before that I had seen you in the balcony through my window. But why have you named him as Armaan when I had introduced myself as I am Maan Singh Khurana.

Back to the stage the lights were turned off as the set was arranged to her balcony and when a dim light focussed at a part of the stage where Geet sat reading a book before heading to bed but before she could even switch on the lights of the lamp her whole concentration was caught by the person who stood infront of her in the opposite apartment. He was engrossed in his work but she wondered what he was doing with such a big board in front and with so many pencils kept in the stand attached to the board. It looked like her Armaan was a painter. Was he painting her portrait by any chance? Was the first thought which came to her mind or rather her heart she questioned herself? Geet thought it was better to be in darkness as that gave her the advantage to stare at him unnoticed. Days had passed from their first meet but they couldn’t meet again in particular but she hoped they did. Nevertheless it didn’t stop her from following his moves whenever and wherever possible.

Get together parties which the society would arrange, many gatherings in neighbourhood places. Sometimes in the name of morning or evening walks or while strolling in the garden. Everytime she saw him but never stopped admiring him. What was it that she felt that instant pull towards him was still unknown to her. Was this a desire, infatuation or indeed love.

In the background a song started to play:

Yeh kya hua kaise hua

Yeh kab hua kya pata

Chori chori jab nazarein mili

Chori chori phir neendein udi

Chori chori yeh dil ne kaha

Chori mein bhi hai maza

Even though the stalking gave a sense of calmness and a new hope to cherish the beautiful life ahead but then there was times too when she had slumped into negative thoughts. What if he never looked at her the way she had started to feel for him. What if her dream her Armaan never become reality? She had cried those nights feeling miserable and helpless.

Maan’s Version: His heart did skip a beat when she claimed him as her’s but was she talking about him or was it just a part of the play. The question lingered in his mind. But the way she spoke made him think it was him she was referring too as Armaan and most importantly she meant what she was saying.

How can you think Geet that when you stay awake in the balcony I wouldn’t have noticed? The moon was there for me to enlighten your existence most of the night. But yes it failed to disclose the fact in that shade that I was the object of your interest.

At one side he felt his heart heavy because of his fears even she had to live and experience the pain of his fears. But then it will not happen now, he was ready to accept his feelings to her. He stood up to walk up to her and take her in his arms well secure and away from her fright.

Geet’s Version: However life is full of surprises. One day morning suddenly she got a call from her home town and her parents wanted Geet back the same day. A kind of restlessness had filled her with that unexpected call. Unfortunately her fears had come true that day as when she reached, her parents broke the news that she was getting married in next 7 days. Hell broke loose on her but what was she to tell them? When she herself was in a fix? She didn’t know whether it was a one-sided love or even he did love her.

As a fate’s decision she agreed to her parents wish. What if her wish her Armaan wasn’t there for her. She couldn’t break the joy of her parents.

Maan’s Version: He felt his heart heavy with the sudden disclosure of her moving away from him. How can God be so kind and cruel to him at the same moment? God choose this moment to give him courage and also choose to break it. But this was not the time to let go her. It was time to embrace her no matter the difficulties he had to face. No matter the people he had to stand against, he will not let his love fail that to when he knew she too harboured the same; may be even carved to hear him declare his love.

He who had stood still hearing the pain in her voice while narrating her haal-e-dil in the form of a play walked in determined steps to reach her at any cost. He doesn’t care what others would think of him if he interrupted any play. He had to eradicate the pain in that voice. Which pleaded him to accept his love?

Students who stood managing the backstage work commented “Anjali maam always manages to bring those emotions right through the heart. How easily she could portray the pain of a girl who was ready to let go the love of her life.”

“Yes… now you have to be alert as Geet’s Armaan’s entry in the marriage is coming now. We need to arrange the set in seconds the lights goes off.” ordered the head girl to her assistant.

The moment the lights are off people rush to change the set when Maan barges into the area where the narrator sat doing the recital of her heart. She didn’t need any parch of paper to emote what was screened on stage today. But in the hassle some people are pushed and the stage doesn’t get ready in time. As the signal from the head girl isn’t received all the lights weren’t switched on and the dim light at the narrator’s place creates a new set where in the shade of 2 people are shown on the centre screen. The final confrontation was waiting for them.

Sudden change makes the narrator to squeal in surprise as someone just pulled her away from her position but the mic which she had fixed was intact. “Ouch…Who are you?” she asked.

One word from him made her speechless “Geet…” The heaviness in that voice gave away the pain he was experiencing.

“Maan…” she replied instantly “Why are you here? You shouldn’t be.”

“Geet… Not now… I can’t let you go.” He replied “After a long time I today managed to shed the barriers between us.”

“This isn’t the right moment. We can’t speak now. People are waiting for me.” she said.

“Let them wait. Today is our day. We have waited for this moment more than anyone.” He said.

“You always surprise me with your action but now I have to go, they are waiting for me.” She pleaded.

But before she could turn around and go he stopped her by pulling her back into his embrace. “Geet… I won’t let you go away from me even for a second. Let anyone think whatever they want but today you will have to hear me. I want to tell you what I have always felt for you. My every day starts and ends with you. You are the sunshine of my life. These 7 days when you weren’t there it made me realise without you I am living a half-life. You are that missing piece of my life who would make me complete. You weren’t the only one who stalked me even I did secretly. Every night you had the pleasure to fill your heart and similarly you are my morning cynosure. Your absence in my life would mean a life of a living dead.”

“Maan….” she stopped him by covering his mouth with her hand not to speak anything related to death.

But he removed her hand while placing a soft kiss over her delicate fingers “No… don’t stop me. Today I wouldn’t at any cost. I am your Maan not just your wish armaan but in reality also. You don’t have to bow down to anyone else wishes. You can’t keep someone happy when you are unhappy. I would speak to everyone and get everything correct but will not let you go away from me. With you my side I could win the whole world.”

The day you came in here…

Our life has entwined into one

You are the most precious gem

Was unveiled in dawning light

Which couldn’t be concealed

Behind the darkness

As it shone in the moon light…

I desire to close the void

I avow to abide by you

To keep you happy every second of our life.

To eradicate every reason which could bring tears in your eyes

To be yours and only yours till death do us apart.

This life starts and ends with you

I love you Geet… I love you… till my last breathe

and even beyond that.

Will you take make as yours Geet???

“Yes I do…I love you… I love you too…Maan.”

With that confirmation Maan took those petals into his which spoke the delightful words. Though to the outside world it seemed as just a play the love birds had got their life back into them. They separated only when they were short of breath. Maan was the first one to speak after the sweet assault. “I would speak to your parents don’t worry. I wouldn’t let anyone to take you away from me.” He said it many a time to just assure himself than Geet.

“Maan… Maan… Calm down my marriage isn’t fixed…” Geet said. Maan gave a confused look. “It was just a twist before the end and you just gave me a beautiful surprise.”

“You mean to say… it was all just a play.” Maan said raising his brow still not convinced.

“No… But the marriage part was only a play… I am not getting married to anyone just like I had changed your name into my armaan.” Geet said little bit excited and bit blush as her play won the best prize for her. Her Maan…who was not just a wish (armaan) for her but become hers forever.

Before Maan could reply they were interrupted by a voice which made Maan gulp his saliva as he had totally forgotten his dad who was also present in the same college. He must have heard each and every truth of his heart. And knowing his dad, he must have been hurt too because things came out like this.

“That isn’t the truth. You are getting married and that too very soon.” Rajneesh Khurana said as time and again his dad had surprised him just like every day.

Maan thought it would be easy to convince his dad as he would want is his children’s happiness but his words again scared him.

“Dad… I love her Dad.” Maan said but Rajneesh raised his hands to stop his son from speaking a word more than required.

“You don’t even know who she is or her background. Why should I make her my Daughter in law?” Papa Khurana spoke with a naughty smirk which went unnoticed even by Maan.

“Dad… She is Geetanjali Sharma… to be Mrs. Geetanjali Maan Singh Khurana.” Maan said proudly. “She is working here in this college as a senior lecturer in literature and also doing her masters. Her family is in a respected one in their town.” Maan continued to give the history of her family which he had known from the few meets with Geet earlier. “Dad… dad…she is the best for me and for our family too… Dad.”

“Maan you sound like a 5-year-old kid to me now who is bargaining with me for his favourite toy.” Rajneesh finally decided to not to trouble his son more. “You didn’t hear me fully at that time I guess… You are getting married and that too very soon to my son Maan Singh Khurana…We would very soon come to meet your family Geet.” And took both his Son & would be daughter in law into his embrace.

“Thank you Dad.” Maan said. “Love you Dad.”

Geet felt elated at this and avowed to abide by him forever.
